When you are thinking of ridding of a player in their prime, yes, it’s best to have a replacement plan. Unless you think it’s better to go into the season with no legitimate pass rush...

You should start thinking before posting threads.

There actually is a path. It's not a great one, but it's there. And in all probability the Cowboys pass rush would not be as good without Tank. But with the right moves and a little luck it won't be non existent.

If you went and read all the posts from the beginning cuz you would have understood what I said. You can't come in at the last thread post and think you're going to get the entire conversation correct. I mean who does that. Every time I comment I make sure I read the entire thread threw out first. How else do not cross reference post
I've read every post in this thread. Doesn't make wanting to trade your best defender and pass rusher for a 2nd round pick any smarter. Then wanting to trade UP in a draft that is deep in all of our need areas? Damn. That's just bad business. We should be wanting more picks in this draft, not less.

So what is your suggestion . pay him more than he's worth let him sit out for the season. I don't know. I'd rather have somebody on the field. And I save 23 million a year if you're going to trade up what do you have for trade bait

This franchise is a defensive tackle strong safety tight end away from greatness. We were the youngest starting team in the league last season. Third-youngest overall. Some people confuse the two

I just not sure if anybody will pay that much for him with the talent that's coming out of this draft. That's my issue. I believe there's equal quality just because of the shoulder
He’s 26 and it takes a couple years for a DE to explode . DLaw is in his prime

how quickly we forget how much our pass rush sucked for multiple seasons. Look, you arent getting a 11-14 sack guy for 14 million...... thats just the way it goes.

Did you ever hear of the draft. Would it not be better to have a player
than have him sit out. Did you think of that scenario

We just lost our starting defensive end. We have a hole at safety. We holes at DT. We need to begin searching for a TE. Ridding of Lawrence opens up yet another hole before the draft.

And we haven't reached a point where he's sitting out yet - so you're kinda jumping the gun here.

With an injured shoulder that he refuses to have surgery on. You suggest we pay him 23 million a year. Is that what you want to do question

I said the same thing all day. We are a defensive tackle strong safety tight end away from greatness. But what do we do about Lawrence that's the post. Pay him let him sit out trade him. What do you suggest. Everybody has an opinion how everybody else they're wrong without a suggestion but isn't that the fun of the Forum to play GM LMAO

Jason Garrett for the past 5 Seasons seasons has repaired the defensive line. I think we went from 26th to 14th in one season. And that was just taking people off other people's practice squads. I'm not panicking. It seems like many are

I love that they replace the entire Back Field everybody panicked. I said defensive backfield play on Islands their entire careers. I totally believe we can fix the defensive line but it has to start up the middle in my opinion. If you can't get a middle pass-rush I don't care how good your edges you're not going to win in this league

I think the question that needs to be asked is, what dollar amount are people willing to accept? I'm already out at 22.5 Mil. When is it too much? 25 Mil? If he wanted more than Mack money, do we still pay him because we don't have a replacement?

So I'm doing nothing different than many Cowboy fans thinking of different scenarios kicking the can around and everybody gets frustrated. I find it hilarious

Exactly all I'm saying is it's fun to come up with scenarios. And at the end of the whole thing somebody may win the lottery

I'm new here people don't know me. I don't get a lot of Slack. I've Been a Cowboy fan since the Rodger Staubach days when I was in the military overseas. All you could watch was the Cowboys. I suffered through thick and thin like many of you. I love the star what it represents. I mean no disrespect.

I have neuropathy my finger sting nerve damage. I rely on speaking text. It gets gobbled sometimes. I do my best. Go Cowboys. To me this is not the same old Cowboys I no longer have those expectations of failure when something goes a little bit backwards. We have 13 4th quarter comeback wins in 3 Seasons. We won the most Primetime games in the league the last 3 Seasons. I don't care what happened 20 years ago. This is not the same team the same players can I actually believed 8 and 8 was a great accomplishment. How many teams go to the Superbowl and don't even make the playoff The Following season. The league wanted parody they got it. I actually think being average was a great accomplishment in this salary cap ever football we playing

I could see him signing for 21.5 million then being traded to Indy for a 1st and 3rd in 19' and a 3rd in 20'.....Tank gets his money, whoever trades for him gets a credible DE and we get a better compensation deal for losing him. We can sign Quinn, draft a DE in the 1st, a SS in the 2nd, a DT and a tall CB in the 3rd ( Allen, Adams/Thornhill, Saunders and Johnson/Williams).
