In view of the latest rumors about how far apart the two sides are over Tank's deal..

we have to change directions and start to view life after Tank leaves.

I think he and Irvin are buying their smoke from the same source.

That is some bad stuff, boys.

It makes you see funny and think funny.

No way do I want to be tied to Tank for a 6 year deal.

No way do I want to spend $140 mil on this guy.

Frankly, we have had to deal with multiple failures with him since his rookie year on.

Injuries, suspensions, questionable attitude..

and right now he is not having shoulder surgery because he wants his new deal first.

Huh?

More of the same from this guy.

It's an embarrassment to the team, it's fans and to himself.

I prefer we recind the Franchise Tag..

take the $20 mil and go on and draft a DL at 58..

sign Quinn if it can be done..

and wait for some teams to cut some DL after the draft and see what happens.

We have 3 LBers in Vander Esch, Smith and Lee who can be used in multiple ways to enhance the pass rush if needed.

This being pre-occupied over Tank makes no sense at all.

When we let Ware go..

we had to adjust but made huge errors in drafting Gregory and signing Irvin and then Hardy to try to fix it.

Let's stop making errors and move on.

Signing Tank to what he wants is another big error.

Comments.?

I get nervous when a part of a plan includes "see what happens".
Had to do it when Cooper " happened".

Or did you forget that already.?

You sound like Me. Lawrence.

Yeah, he wants $85 mil guaranteed..

but can't assure us he is healthy enough to earn it.

Nice work if you can get it..

just saying.

Suppose you told your boss you will be into work and pick up your check today but you are also starting your 2 weeks paid vacation when you come in.

You would get a pink slip in your box.

Mack is way better than DLaw, and I wouldn’t pay Mack that sum. People hate paying a QB 25 million, but are willing to pay a DE over 20 million. Not me! DE and pass rush are important, but not important enough to put that much into one player.

So 20 million is fine but 22.5 is not?

Silly. That money is a wash when the cap is rising by 10 or more mill each year.

That’s my reaction. It doesn’t seem like much in the context of cap inflation.

Tank is a necessity when Quinn is the only other viable pass rusher we have. *

Lol, wut?

Now people are just making thing up.

Making things up?

How do you figure that?

Go ask the Steelers fans how happy they are with Bell and AB and their negotiations that have suddenly rendered the team probably less than competitive overnight.

Tank is taking the same direction.

This is the go to response anytime a player doesn't fall in line with the team and status quo "honor" of being a Cowboy. He's been one of the most dedicated and hard working players on this team and an emotional leader.

Say what you want about his contract demands, but he's about as distant of a "cancer" as you can get.

I remember last season we saw what happened when we went into the season with bum WR's.
We got lucky that Gruden was dumb enough to trade us Cooper. He wasnt the plan. He was what we had to do because the plan of 'see what happens' failed.

That said..... I get where you are coming from. I am not comfortable paying a DE 22M per year when we have Dak, Zeke, B Jones, Cooper, Jaylon all coming due soon.

It all comes down to how much is too high? I don't think 20 is fine. The Cowboys apparently do and it's up to them, not me. And 6 years 140 Mil is 23.3 Mil a year. At what point is it not fine? He's pricing himself out. The draft is heavily loaded at defensive line. He is making himself a better trade candidate for a late 1st rounder early 2nd rounder with his demands.

The other shoe is dropping with Tank.

He says he will not sign the Tag..

he will not get his shoulder fixed.

What part seems real to you?

All of it does to me and I do not buy it.

Keep him franchised and look for his replacement. He's a damn good player, but not elite

IF it goes above $22.5 a year they need to consider trading him for picks. That's coming from someone who considers Tank a cornerstone player.
