Some of you people are just ridiculous.

Byron has been a hard worker, good attitude player since the day he arrived to the Cowboys. Never been an issue off the field. He has also never missed a game in his NFL career thus far.

Now all of a sudden him getting minor surgery in the off-season is a sign of a conspiracy or him being a negative me first player?

It’s lunacy.

I think Byron and Zeke’s ex conspired to get Zeke suspended. And are we just going to assume Byron has nothing to do ESPN offering Witten that job?! Or the no-catch call?!

Hope he can get back to where he was and maybe this was an issue for a while and they just now decided surgery was the best fix? He did not have the most fluid hips for a DB and maybe this will help with that.

But I expect some grumbling because he's one of the more underappreciated players and many seem ready to let him walk and had no problem with the trade rumors.

Just a note to those Richard rangers, he was not the architect of the Legion of Boom, that was Carroll. He sure gets a lotta love here when his previous team was fine with letting him walk and he gets that same treatment Booger gets when something good happens, someone else did it. D is good, Richard is great. D is not good, that damned Marinelli.

One thing I have noticed about Richard. When he gets in a player(s) face and yells at them, that gets 0 improvement. No one ever yelled competency or talent into an individual. My jury is still out on this guy and he owned that Rams game just as much if not more than Marinelli.

Not to mention trying a non surgical approach to see if that fixes the problem. Surgery should always be a last resort.
This is exactly what happened in this situation. Sore hip he wanted to work through, hasn’t gone away so he’s getting surgery. No big deal

He's coming up for a contract extension and not being able to put himself in ideal shape for the season tells a lot about
the player. He's likely to throw away his chance of staying in Dallas long term.

What a weird take. Getting the surgery done likely helps put himself in ideal shape. But beyond that having a great season in a contract year likely pushes him out the door lol

They want to stay on this team because they know we are close to a SB...

That's why the Cowboys should have contact to trade for Jalen Ramsey when he was in the Jags dog house.

The same guy who popped his own knee back in place, so he could get right back in the game!

Getting the surgery was absolutely necessary...Getting the surgery in late March puts him far behind the curve IMHO. By the way, it's not a weird take at all if NFL football is your primary job and you want to keep it.

By all accounts it was an issue that could potentially be resolved by rest and time. It wasn’t and surgery was done. I’d be more concerned if it was major surgery that he opted not to have at all due to his pending contract year. Byron is a stand up guy

Maybe a little less stiff by having this clean up procedure done. Having motion without discomfort or pain.

Absolutely -- people see the words "hip surgery" and get freaked out. It's not a torn labrum nor a hip replacement. It's a cleanup procedure, which usually entails cleaning out calcium deposits and such. Upon returning, he should be better off than he's been in quite some time. ;)
