8 million plus incentives isn’t a lot for a DE, at all.

Also, any time a player is traded for, it means you outbid the rest of the NFL for them. Yet trades can obviously still be beneficial to teams.

Which makes your post idiotic.

It is a lot for a guy that 30 other teams decided wasn’t even worth a 5th

How much did the eagles just pay Brandon Graham? How many pro bowls has he made btw?

If you’re going to come on the board and troll, at least try to do it intelligently.

Brandon Graham wasn’t rejected by 30 other teams. We signed him before he hit the open market because he would have made more.

Robert Quinn is just as good as Brandon Graham.

But again, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Which is a regular occurrence with you.

Quinn is a good DE. You could sit here and throw out BS about what teams did/didn’t want to trade for him.

Or, you could actually watch the player and know what you’re talking about.

Then again, even if you did watch him you probably still wouldn’t know what you’re talking about.

A 2020 6th rounder is equivalent to a 2019 7th rounder. Basically nothing. Yes, he is getting paid $8 million. He gets a $1 million incentive if he gets 7 or more sacks. So if he gets 7 sacks then Dallas will pay him $9 million next year. Trey Flowers just got an $18 million a year contract and had 7.5 sacks last year.

That’s all true. But my point is if ‘leading the league in beating his man’ is such a good stat, why is he not even worth a 5th round pick to any team in the league?

This excites me. Sack #'s don't tell the whole story.

Yep. Secondary play has a huge impact on sack numbers. If QBs are finding open guys on their first and second read, getting sacks is tough. Not that our secondary is lights out, but he should have a little more time to get there in Dallas.

A 6th is dropping a 2nd round pick two spots. It's very little.

I'm not a fan of the full round discount usually considered appropriate for future pick value. I'd rather be on the other end of that deal.

I never said he wasn’t a good DE. I wanted the eagles to look into him before we resigned Brandon. I actually never said anything biased at all. Look at what you’re doing right now:

I said no one thought he was worth giving up a 5 for. That’s uncontestable fact. I said he’s going to make 8 million and with incentives if he plays to some increment or what we expect he can, his incentives will very likely go well into the double-digit millions. That’s not subjective, that’s not a trollish opinion. The Saints were in on him too, and when you offered a 2020 6th, they said ‘Too rich for my blood!’ He really hasn’t made a pro bowl in 5 years. Whether or not you value that point, it’s not wrong, or even remotely skewed.

100 people come on this site every day and give a negative opinion or odd perspective on Dallas Cowboys happenings. ‘Tank’s contract demands are outrageous!’ They say. ‘He’s worth every penny because he’s the best dline player since Ware!’ Someone might rebuke. But those comments will get no likes, no quotes. No one really cares, it’s typical rhetoric on a Friday afternoon.

But I state 3 simple FACTS about Quinn at this point in his career, and you and others can’t prevent yourselves from calling me things like unintelligent or troll. You literally have responded to that same post multiple times now, god himself couldn’t have stopped you. You know what never actually happened? My stating an opinion of whether I even thought this was a good trade or not. But you don’t care. That’s what makes me the troll and not you, right?

He’s just bitter they blew a 3rd rounder for a Golden Tate rental.

They'll get a 4th as a comp pick for Tate next year, so not a terrible rental.

If we let Quinn walk after this year, we probably pick up a comp 5th in 2021 for him. Now that'd be a great rental.

We made a trade to better our football team.
What did the patriots give for Moss, a 6th? Then he broke the all time td record in a season.
Quinn is a player at a position of need for us.

Moss was a 4th. I’m not disputing the value of the trade, I wanted the eagles to get him before BG resigned.

If I were a cowboys fan, my concern would be telling Tank he’s great but the money isn’t there to give him a few mil more, But then turn around and give Quinn 8-12 million.

What you’re doing right now, is just trolling the board and looking for negative things to say about an opposing teams acquisition. It’s actually pathetic and makes you look like a total tool.

That’s stating facts.

I also spent time pointing out the type of player Quinn is and why it was a good deal for the Cowboys. And why your points about no other team willing to give more than a 6th is really inconsequential and doesn’t matter.

I also pointed out how his salary is actually a good deal. Because a player of his caliber is well worth 8 mil at his position.

I just made sure to point out the others obviois fact of you being a troll.

Nope. I like being here, because I’m a nice guy. You don’t want me to be because it doesn’t fit your narrative and you’ve resorted to calling me names.
