what cowboys player(s) did you feel were under appreciated & you miss them / wish they were on the current team

for me it’s anthony spencer — this guy was solid as a rock on the weak side & never really got his full due for being a cornerstone on some good defenses

some other honorable mentions — marion barber, terence newman & darren woodson (not necessarily unsung but damn we miss him)

Romo, how could I leave him off the list. Every cowboys fan I meet in person hated him, attributes winning or losing strictly to the QB, but they praise Dak and we've accomplished just as little with better teams and more experienced coaches. I honestly believe people don't actually watch games or understand what they're seeing when the tv is on some times.

Safety George Teague.

Fast, instinctive, and had a knack for finding the ball, and making big plays. In the 1996 Wild Card playoff win over Minnesota he had the greatest single game I have seen a safety play. He prevented a Vikings TD by forcing a fumble at the goal line, recovered a fumble, and had a pick six....all in the first half.
No doubt & T.O. didn't want what he was giving out ,either:starspin:

D.D. Lewis. Talk about undeappreciated:

To this day, he holds the Cowboys playoff record with 27 games played. During his NFL career, Lewis played in 12 NFC Divisional Contests, one NFC Wild Card Contest and nine NFC Championship Games. He made five Super Bowl appearances while winning Super Bowl VI and Super Bowl XII. During the 1980 season, he became along with Larry Cole, the first three-decade players in franchise history.[2]

Lewis played for 13 years and started 135 consecutive games (third in team history), until his retirement after the 1981 season. He was voted the "Most Popular Player" by the Cowboys fans and given the Bart Starr Meritorious Award in 1981. He is one of only eight NFL players who have played in five Super Bowls: (V, VI, X, XII and XIII).

Although he was never selected to a Pro Bowl or All-Pro squad, he served as defensive co-captain in 1977 and 1978. In 1984, he was named to the Cowboys Silver Anniversary Team.

Many players can fit in here.

But Ron Springs can be on this list for sure.

First 3 year of roy williams was fun. 5 picks a season and laying the boom. Then a collection of finding god, getting burnt 2x in a game by santana moss, and the horse collar killed him.

Leon Lett. The guy is known for two boneheaded plays, but he was an amazing player that helped us get championships. I think it's unfair to remember him for two bad plays. Mike Ditka was also kind of unsung. Everyone remembers him as the Bears coach, but he was an excellent TE for this team and later an assistant coach.

By far the most under appreciated player in Cowboys history and maybe sports history is Tony Romo. There is no close second. a few other guys that I think I liked more then most other Cowboy fans were Anthony Henry and Marc Columbo. Man, if every lineman had Columbo's mean streak.

DMAC he was very under appreciated bridge from Murray to Zeke and really in 2015 with no QB and no plan , bad defense he got nearly 1100..he would have made better complement to Zeke then Smith yet somehow he landed in a doghouse with Linehan..i blame Linehan for a lot and this is one..

and ROMO :)

With out a doubt Darren Woodson
Maybe the most undervalued Cowboy of all time. This defense still has not recovered

Wasn't Woodson the one who always looked, upon striking contact ,like he had a perpetual "stinger" going on in that point of contact shoulder he'd hit the receiver with?
