Very odd transaction

Sounds like RGregory needed some cash and DAL gave him a 300k advance for his rights in 2021

DAL already had his rights for 2019(955k) and 2020(RFA) but if he was suspended for the whole year DAL would keeps those deals and just roll them over to 2020-21

They must be betting on him playing this year for some reason.... maybe he needed the money to finish the rehab he needed to get compliant......... looks like it adds at least 100k to this year's cap

Unless Booger's done this discretely, and when did he ever do anything discretely, at this last owners' meeting and got more on board with his thinking, they're not considering dropping pot as a tested substance unless the NFLPA makes that a sticking point and they can claim they had to in order to avert a work stoppage. I can't see that being an issue with the union since so few players are affected by it but I would assume even the smart ones circumventing the tests would like for it to go away.

It sure doesn't help that only 7 teams play in states where recreational use is allowed. If WIS passes it as the governor is pushing for, how about bongs and brats at games? I think the league has to wait until at least half of their franchises are in legal states.
We got that Medical use here in my A.O.,,,( I've been in those dispensaries a half a dozen times in the past with my best Ex-Friend &Bro as that's the first thing he angled for was scoring that medical card, ,,, personally? there was no way in the flames of hell's fires were they gonna " shoehorn me into that "need of the weed" category as thus far/ currently? the federal level casts a dark felonious gaze upon 'hop-heads & firearms ownership' & they know their side of the fence cannot be circumvented by any of these uppity dope huffing states sportin that,,,groovitude of newwave Greasy kid stuff ,,, ya know,CC?

* i'll post up a pic of my EX- best bro as an AVATAR ,,, cuz' he's got his ex- wife's cheese wedge foam fan hat on & dancing around a box of
" dead chickens" ( take out) trying to build bad JU-JU against my COWBOYS in that 2014 game ,,,about 5 frickin' flockin' minutes B-4 the #88 NO CATCH B.S. call.

*I'll fly it fer' 3 or 4 days,O.K.!

Gregory is playing the Cowboys for a fool - he gets money to buy pot and seldom plays. That's ALL he's doing. He has no intention of "turning his life around", why should he when he is essentially on welfare paid for by the Cowboys?

By November he'll be 27 years old, what are the Cowboys going to do, extend him until he's 42?

He's a lost cause, how many times does a player have to get suspended before the league gives him a lifetime ban? I'm figuring he has ONE more shot, and even that won't be until next year probably. He was just indefinitely suspended in February, those kinds of suspensions aren't lifted in a couple of months, Randy will have to go through more testing and counseling and hearings before he's to that point AT BEST.

It was time to move on from Gregory after the last suspension, all Dallas is doing now is saying character means NOTHING to this team. Landry got rid of Duane Thomas for far less disruption, and they went on to great success after he was released. There are other DE candidates out there, who can STAY ON THE FIELD.
Suspended players don’t get paid
He’s made very little money I suspect
I think he’s made about 500k so far

Well marijuana is good for pain relief. It's only a matter of time before the NFL allows it after the beating the players take.

JJ will make Randy Gregory the face of getting rid of the marijuana rule in the NFL.
They have to. They’re screwed with the CTE and pain killers and some of the players feeling like nba players have more leeway in being individuals.

There’s been a lot of articles written about the power dynamics within the nfl and it’s cba. And I think this next labor negotiate might get a little political

I mean you don’t even gotta endorse it you just gotta stop testing for it either way and just let freedom of choice reign

When is the next CBA meeting. I am guessing there will be some rule changes to the drug policy.

He started opening his mouth. Lol. JJ talking before it was settled likely cost Elliot a extra 3 games.
And considering Jones was dragging his feet on Goodell's extension, at least behind the scenes at that time, you could be right.

What's funny about the old coot is trying to get them to rescind the pot testing and off the field behavior with the most affected players. "Lookie here, got an idea. The problem isn't the crime, it's the law. Fewer laws, fewer crimes."

No problem with this. We are paying him peanuts with no long term money on the book.

I’m not convinced that Gregory will ever turn it around, but this is a low risk gamble.

Who's Randy's agent? That seems cheap, but I figure they wanted security.

Randy Gregory should sue the NFL for discrimination since he is really fighting a disability and marijuana is what helps him.
