I'm sure they'll do something in the draft to attempt to address getting better service from our current DEs than we've seen so far. I agree that Gregory can't be trusted -- he's proven that time and again but the Joneses can't seem to keep themselves from trying to get something for little or nothing whenever they can. It's far from an ideal situation as far as I'm concerned but I'm not the one in control of this team any more than you are. Hopefully, the draft will offer up someone to improve upon our current DE situation. It might turn out OK if we can sign D-Law and Quinn does well, though. We'll see.

As I said I am only a fan and can give my view nothing more. While I may agree with the Jones on somethings, this is not one of them. Would I like to see Gregory turn things about and become a great player for the Cowboys? of course but reality says he will continue to be a player who can't be counted on and someone who will constantly create holes in the defense as we are forced to find players to play his position costing us resources that can be better spent.

I'm looking at a CBD here in California and CBD oil has THC in it

This guy knows what he's talking about. And for the rest of you so called 'Medical Marijuana Experts', feel free to Google 'Rise Dispensary', choose a location and then select 'MENU'. Here you will find all of the medical strains that are sold. Please note that 95% of these strains contain some percentage of THC. So I ask, please refrain from commenting with your BS because you have no clue as to what you're talking about.

I have little doubt but what Randy Gregory's time with Dallas will be limited. He's obviously dead set upon continuing his pot habit and that won't likely be acceptable to the NFL anytime soon. I believe the Cowboys will eventually be forced to look elsewhere for their pass rushing heroes. It's possibly only a matter of time until that day comes. For now, however, he's been signed to another contract and that's on the FO for doing so. Jerry and Stephen, may eventually be forced to move on from Randy, once they come to realize they're spinning their wheels with him. For a while, though, he's a Cowboy.

I think they will have to, the position is too important not to have a player who can be trusted and counted on. Things like injuries that can keep a guy out there is little you can do but stupid actions off the field that cause you to miss a lot of games there is something that can be done.

Now if he's only allowed to play in the NFL.....

For them to have given him an extension, the hope is that they have some information that he will be playing this coming year. I think the marijuana rules in the NFL are bogus and believe they will be scaled back as early as this season. The Gregory suspension being the first player to have suspension nulled.

I wouldn't be surprised that users caught on marijuana will be forced into treatment and only suspended if they do not attend. Other then that no suspension is warranted as there is no gained advantage in smoking marijuana for a player with how they play on the football field. The same should hold true with alcoholics.

For whatever reason, Jerry and Stephen evidently look upon themselves as the "saviors of lost souls" who seem hopelessly immersed in ways that confound practically everyone but themselves. We've seen this with so many players now that it's really hard to believe.

Gregory isn't in trouble with the law. He isn't hurting anyone but himself and that is debatable considering that marijuana is no illegal in many states and countries. Making a joke about the Jones's is pretty funny considering all they are doing is supporting a player that is being falsely punished. I would want an owner or set of owners like this if I had an opportunity to play the game.

The league is actually taking players ability to have a life because they are suspending them for a non sense rule. Gregory has been a great teammate and citizen other then his weed habit. Same thing goes with Gordon the WR most recently for the Patriots. They are harming nobody. Are gaining no edge by doing what they are doing. But yet you suspend them and take away their ability to make a living.

I live in Canada. Marijuana is legal. If I smoke it on my own time, my company doesn't suspend me without pay or fire me because I smoke weed. They will suspend or fire me if I am smoking it during work hours or on the premises. Same rules should hold true to football players or any athletes for that matter.

A very stupid rule and I am happy the Jones's are having their players backs. IF anyone in this league has pull its the Jones and Kraft. Two sets of owners that have heavily been impacted by this stupid rule. It will change.

Seems that he didn’t fail a test he missed one. Which is the same thing in the NFL. They think you don’t show up because your using. But reading the rules when your in the program, they can test you a lot. I mean more than should be aloud. Up to 10 times per month. To me that’s ridiculous. So it don’t surprise me that a player could miss one. Maybe JJ is hoping or banking that goodell will show some compassion in the situation.

Gregory is in trouble with the laws of the NFL and that's greatly to his and the team's disadvantage. Much also depends upon when the current marijuana restrictions are lifted by the NFL. The players union and the NFL must get together on that matter, which is a time-consuming procedure, if anything. Nobody knows when the NFL will lift their sanctions on the use of marijuana. That remains to be seen.

Whether the current rules are "stupid" or not, they're still there to be observed and Randy isn't doing that, much to his disadvantage and that of the team, as well. He's subject to the current rules, just like anyone else. We'll see what happens with him and how long the Dallas FO can continue to allow him to get suspended and allow his absence from the team when he's otherwise sorely needed. I'm against what Randy's doing to the team. I'm surely not against him personally.

Very interesting move...keeps his rights in the event he is eligible and likely gives cap relief for the pending extensions (Prescott, Zeke, Cooper, etc.). They really believe in the abilities and person that is Randy Gregory it appears.

Given the fact he has actually failed more than once to even be placed on the NFL drug program is enough reason to test him as often as they do.

So glad the front office has decided to reward a guy who has played in 28 games out of the 68 games we have played since he was drafted. That sends the right message to the youngest team in the league.

Bunch of drama queens freaking out about giving a talented player a cheap as dirt extension....it's a essentially riskless option, why would anyone be opposed to this after what he showed he could do last season??

If the dude is suspended, he doesn't take up a roster spot and if he's on the team (as many beat reporters insist the Cowboys believe he will), this is an absolute steal. No one's saying trade the farm to get him, pay him huge $$$ or trade away other DEs and rely on him, so why is there so much outrage?
