IMO Maliek is like Tank. The only thing that has really been able to slow the growth of the kid is injuries. I am expecting a break out season this year. Thoughts?

I don't have many expectations so I'll go with yours Kelz. He's a nice player for sure and grinds through injuries. foot injuries suck when you're a 300 pounder. He just needs a good pair of work boots, we tell that to all of our guys :)

He concerns me.

We can't base anything on him. Bring in bodies, let them hit the floor, and if Maliek strives so be it.

We can't plan next season on Maliek Collins.

He was almost equal in sacks per snap played in 2016 and 2018.

Including the playoffs:

Collins
2016 sacks 5
2018 sacks 4

2018 snaps played = 87% 2016 snaps played

2018 sacks = 80% 2016 sacks

87% of 5 sacks is 4.35 which is obviously not possible.

And I don't think the foot was fully healthy this last year.

I wouldn't be surprised if Collins has it in him for a big year, but he may not get the full chance to shine in a contract year where we'll be looking to develop other players.

As the team is now, I expect Crawford to get 3T pass snaps over Collins. They'll want Taco and Ross in there too. And if we sign a 3T high, that would further limit Collins' snaps.

If they feel good about Collins, they should offer him an extension. If he signs, we play him more. If he doesn't we don't. Invest snaps in guys you have under contract. Invest contract in guys you want to give snaps.

I think he has room fo take a step forward with better health, but I don’t think anything like the leap we saw with Tank.

Always thought this guy was overhyped myself, but most the time you get that on your team's forum. To me altogether he is a jag with upside of decent starter. Most likely he will be a casualty because of FA in a few years. He had a few plays watching Nebraska, but while with Gregory who stole the show the rest of the dline faded.
