So here we are. Meh.

Tomorrow will bring a much-needed breath of fresh air for us all. Finally, this inevitable night is nigh upon us.

Yes, the Amari Cooper was clearly worth this. True, he's far better than any receiver projects to be in this draft. No, it's unlikely any player could have been had late in the first round that could have impacted the team like Amari. Said it then, and saying it now. I get it.

But, dang it. Crap. Son of a biscuit eater. I wanted to draft somebody tonight!

Once the adrenaline and endorphins subside, tonight washes away quickly whether you have a pick or not. Tomorrow, there'll be new energy for two picks that will be there to be had. Glory be.

Most of what gets drafted tonight will be Marcus Spears or Sammy Watkins. A bunch of big names with high hopes that turn out to be worse than Patrick Crayton or Miles Austin, neither of which were even mentioned for 5+ rounds in their day. Draft picks bust like grapes or woefully disappoint based on hype.

So I'll be there, front and center, taking in the drama. But it'll be tough to sit still.

Pass the whiskey.

Yeah I am mad because JJ traded my night away. I always like drinking and sitting in front of the tv watching and waiting for our turn. Guess I will be going to sleep at a regular time. Total BS.

Draft drinking game...every round they mention...can Dallas be trading up, or when they pick, a trade down...take a shot.....

Or better yet, every time it is mentioned in the draft thread on here.
Some will mention it on purpose just to take a shot anyway. :muttley:

Take a shot every time they mention “social media”

Cooper is by far better than anything they would have draft at the end of Round 1. I hated the trade when it happened but in hindsight it was a good deal (if they sign Cooper).

To be honest, it's kind of a bland year for prospects anyway. Outside of a small handful, it's just not that interesting of a group. The QB drama is always there, but even that is muted. Murray could be special perhaps, but the others are probably just 3rd and 4th round talent. So few stand out.

Cooper hasn't even played a full season for us yet, let's cool it that he's "better than anything we could have drafted in the first round".

This, happy we got Copper but I hope during the rest of my life time that we never give up another first round pick again.

I do not understand the disappointment everyone is expressing about not having a pick tonight despite having a far better WR in Amari Cooper than we could ever expect to draft in this years class of WRs. He's 24 years old and ready to wreck the rest of league if Dak can get the ball to him. We should be celebrating Amari today rather than mourning the loss of our draft pick. I'm wearing my Amari Cooper jersey today and watching the start of the new season of Big Bang Theory then watching what the rest of the league does tonight knowing we did better.

Unpopular opinion: I actually do not mind the Cowboys not having a pick tonight. We already know our "1st round pick" is good and there is less stress about Jerry doing something stupid...until tomorrow.

Yeah well...he's better than anything we could have drafted in the first round!

Come on with that cool it talk. I am not saying her is Jerry Rice but he is a 1000 yard receiver that gets open. That is a quantum leap from where they were before he got there. A pro bowl level WR is certainly better than a 25-30 pick.

They would've been trying to draft a WR who is not even half as good as Amari with pick 12-14 had they not traded for him when they did....Total win/win in my opinion. Tonight will be over fast and we'll be excited again for Fri/Sat.

I wouldn’t knock it. A handful of people in this forum seem to be enamored with true 4th round Qb talent
