Thornhill is a ball hawk with good instincts, Rapp is a thumper that’s more of a fit for a box safety. Would love either

Rapp ran a 4.78, Church ran a 4.69 coming out...He won’t get faster...NO I do not want Church 2.0. Trade up for Adderly, Thornhill or Gardner and move on to DT.

That number is a bit skewed because of his groin injury.

When healthy Rapp is a 4.5 guy

Issue with Thornhill is, they view Woods as their FS. Thornhill can play SS, but they likely move him in the slot or eventual cornerback.

Rapp does not have a second gear. Solid box safety but in the NFL nowadays you need speed. Speed does not increase as he gets older. The tape does not show that much speed. Will he upgrade Heath..definitely..but I want more. We have gone too long with mediocre safety play.

Rapps stats dont hold a candle to Thornhill. Trade up and get the man!

All valid points and I agree with you.

But some people may not want to hear it, but the coaches could be sold on our safeties. Woods, Heath, Iloka and Frazier. Outside of Woods is terrible. But just could be their thinking

Great defenses are built on speed. I agree with you that another Church is not needed. Rapp is young and he is as fast as he will ever be a this point. He is only going to get slower every year from here on out. Why waste a pick knowing this? That lack of speed will hurt the defense for years to come if they draft Rapp.

What are the chances all four of them will be taken by 58? I'm wondering if people think we will need to trade up to secure a good S or if one will drop into our lap

One of them will be there. Question is whether it’ll be the one we want. If we really like one, move up. If we don’t, roll the dice but be prepared to go another direction if the board breaks wrong. Most important thing is to pick someone who can play in this league.

I'd take Rapp off the board at 58, but there's really not too much to differentiate between the other 3. I lean Thornhill.

The three players I heard they were focused on were Thornhill, Rapp, and Allen. Deciphering comments for Garrett (safety that can play down or deep) and Stephen (interceptions is what they want from a safety) Thornhill would get the nod.
