I feel like every draft there is a player the Cowboys reach for. He is the 1tech that we have passed on for years, just a little surprised with the safeties on the board and depth of dts available in this draft.

No one knows exactly how this draft would play out if they passed but I would think they could have traded down got an extra 4th round pick then traded up again in the 3rd.

Walter also called it a slight reach giving it a C+, but CBS gave it an A and USAtoday gave it a B+. So yea, not the worst pick in the world except to Cowboys fans who desperately wanted a safety and anything but a safety would have been wrong to them.

I have no issue with it. We need a pass rusher in the middle. He can do that. One of these safeties will make it to us in the 3rd...i would guess.

But you didn’t have character issues with any of those guys above.

Hill has a makeup very similar to Charlton. And David Irving for that matter in terms of work ethic, etc.

He was a reach at 58 like Charlton was a reach.

This is where it’s clear Marinelli exerts too much influence over the Jones.

Apparently hill was great under Scott frost and didn’t have any issues. Never got along with the new staff and they benched him

The Cowboys have earned the benefit of the doubt with me. They had this guy targeted well well before the draft and took him over all of the safeties. They know something ....

dude it was nearly the 2rd round late second and most of the reaction from the media hosting the draft said it was exactly the spot that was not reach for this guy..let the GD pick play out.. calling RM stupid is ridiculous, he doesnt own the war room, many people go over a board all off season and he obviously was on the board if there..
