When the back end get torch again we will be go back to this draft.

You realize a lack of pressure up the middle was just as much a reason for getting torched?

When I watched the team last season, I noticed the lack of DT pressure way more than the safeties getting beat. Xavier Woods is a keeper and Heath/Iloka will be serviceable.

I feel like every draft there is a player the Cowboys reach for. He is the 1tech that we have passed on for years, just a little surprised with the safeties on the board and depth of dts available in this draft.

No one knows exactly how this draft would play out if they passed but I would think they could have traded down got an extra 4th round pick then traded up again in the 3rd.

No, he is not likely to be a 1 tech. As a matter of fact that was his issue in college... He doesn't like playing the nose and that led to the issue with his coach.

Really wanted a safety. Are there any good ones left? Guess Saunders won't be a Cowboy. I kinda wanted him too.

They had Taco targeted for awhile too.

They’ve now taken three guys with work ethic issues..... one bombed out - Irving, one is close to bombing out - Charlton.

Let’s hope they do better the third time with a DL with questionable work habits.

This team hasn’t had a playmaking safety for years, a few fall into their laps and they take a Marinelli project.

To be fair they have up peanuts for Irving.

I would have preferred a safety but he's a good value pick, he was ranked 52 overall Maybe Hooker will last until 90.

The Rundown: An early-entry junior, Hill was dominant for much of his college career in the American Athletic Conference. He was a second-team all-conference pick in 2017, and although he only started one game last year amid a new coaching regime, he’s considered one of better interior defensive line prospects in this year’s class. He posted career highs in total tackles (36) and sacks (3) last season as part of the tackle rotation.

How He Fits In: The under tackle is such a critical position in defensive coordinator Rod Marinelli’s scheme. Marinelli wants athletic interior linemen who can get up the field and push the pocket, and Hill can do just that. At 308 pounds, he has the size of a nose tackle and the quickness of an under tackle. He’ll likely compete for snaps with Maliek Collins, who started when healthy last season, and free agent pickups Kerry Hyder and Christian Covington. Defensive captain Tyrone Crawford can play inside or at defensive end. Regardless, the Cowboys wanted to upgrade their defensive tackle depth and Hill is the answer.

People hated the Charlton pick and are looking dead on here.

This guy has a similar resume to Charlton - questionable work ethic, lazy, takes plays off, could be a pain in the *** with coaches.
You are wrong about him having questionable work ethic, lazy, taking plays off. Dead wrong. Problem was only with new coaching staff. You'll see. Great pick and exactly what this defense needs

Did he have a new HC that didn't like him?

No.

Did Hill play almost all the snaps in the bowl game?

Yes.
You are really going here?

I guess you are.

LOL

That's fine. Excuse what amounts to a character nightmare just because well, your team picked him.
