Right. Collins is a goner no matter how he plays this year. This was a need if you had any foresight.

It also gives them protection in case freak boy Frederick can't feel his feet again.

I'd trade Collins for a pick or safety. That way, we get something for him. I think 4 is about the comp pick we'd get anyway for him. Why not get a safety out of it either in the draft or in a player-player swap?

Moves like this are why I have faith in our war room.

This might not be the pick people wanted to see, but it will pay dividends a year or two from now and will be a move where he goes a round earlier on those “redrafting the 2019 draft” articles.

It’s gonna pay off this year

It gives us flexibility because ain’t no way smith or Fred is playing All 16 games I’ll drink A gallon of 1946 moonshine in under 30 seconds if they do

Sua-Filo is a serviceable guard. Flemming is about as good as Collins is at RT. Williams is up and coming. Looney is a great back up.

Collins is an expensive weak link on the line. I wouldn’t mind seeing him traded.

Exactly, and so I've got no qualms whatsoever about us trading him. We should be able to get a 4th rounder for him.

I'd say 4th or 5th, me, if we're judging off of his most recent season. And so, I'd say the FO will be more than happy to take a 4th now instead of waiting to find out how it would work out with a new team.

Exactly. With the season he had, I think a comp 4 or 5 is the ceiling pick we can get for him. So, we might as well get that in a trade for him. Yes, we could get a 3rd comp for him. But, let's face it, we could either lose that pick if we sign a lot of FAs or that pick could decrease. Might as well strike while the iron is hot. Plus, next year, the CBA expires, so who knows how that will impact the comp pick process. So, if we wait, we could be jeopardizing that. I'd trade him now.

We actually want La’el to dominate this year. Heck hopefully we win the Super Bowl and some team throws crazy money at him and we get a 3rd round comp.

Great pick, great value, in a position of what I believe is a need and future need.
Can't have enough Linemen on BOTH sides of the trenches.

The draft moves that came Friday were done with the intention of solidifying our offensive and defensive lines.

They were made with the future in mind. Both draftees are regarded as capable of starting in a timely manner.

According to Jane Slater, Connor Williams has been informed that he'll be moved to RT later on in the future.

I read McGovern is a goo run blocker with NFL ready strength but has holes in his pass blocking.

The problem with I see with this plan is that it's dependent on Connor Williams being able to be an NFL calibre tackle... I'm sorry but I just don't think he can be.... And why are we so insistent on shuffling players from tackle to guard to tackle. Just draft a tackle. ...
