The QB's skillset definitely plays are role, but there's a reason they got rid of Linehan. Linehan stubbornly refused to make alterations to the scheme and adjustments mid-game. His entire coaching career record reflects that.
Linehan was basically a scapegoat for Garretts offense and schemes trying to cater to Daks wonderful passing abilities. Lol

Maybe so but I’d argue they might not have needed to make as big of splash if they had made better decisions going in. The Cooper deal was basically a knee jerk reaction that worked out last year but could have ripple effects moving forward, beginning with this draft.

Diehard, hindsight is always 20-20. Always has been, always will be. For all of us, even you. That's nothing new.

I would make that trade (especially in hindsight) 100 times out of 100
Yeah I didn't like the trade when it first happened but I am happy to eat crow now. We got the better end of this trade.

To me, that was some more Dak friendly political stuff than the OC being an issue. Of course now we are gonna have a kid as the OC and I personally expect a very simple offense that most NFL Defenses will eat up.

We'll see how things play out. It's not like Moore hasn't been in the NFL a while and hasn't seen what is out there. There will definitely be a learning curve, but then again there's no game film yet on what he might come up with, which should help at first.

I'm neither optimistic nor pessimistic. It's more of a wait and see mentality.

Then explain his coaching record before joining the Cowboys.

Garrett's offense SUCKS. The philosophy of always beating your man and executing play perfectly doesn't work. The lack of adjustments is stupid. Linehan was just as much at fault for that. Whether Dak improves or not is in question, but when the other team can always predict what you're going to do, it does the offense no favors.

Too bad we don't get the rookie contract with our pick.

Cooper's fifth year - 17mil a year vs. 1st round pick - 3mil a year + chance to sign to extension in 4 years
Cooper vs. 1st round pick + 14mil per year + chance to sign to extension in 4 years

I’ve never kept track of OC records. I do know our offense and his play calling was effective with Romo. If you’re going to give all the credit to Romo then you must place the blame on Dak.

IMO our QB is much at fault for his lack of reading defenses, movement in the pocket and downfield accuracy while making adjustments.

I suppose it comes down to how you interpret and view the events on the field. But that’s how I see it.

But I see an offensive scheme that’s had to be dumb down because of our QB. This is the NFL. We need to open it up not dial it down. We have to be far too protective of Dak making mistakes that our Redzone passing offense is almost non existent.

That’s what we do here is play Monday Morning QB. Fans have the benefit of using hindsight. We are allowed to be critics after the fact.

Moore was a QB coach one year. And a backup QB a couple years. About as Green as it comes. Probably the least experienced OC in Cowboys history . Nothing could go wrong. Lol

AMARI COOPER. If he was in this years top 32 picks, he would have been the best pick by far...not even close. When analyzing the top 32 picks from day one, Cooper many would argue, was the best pick of the night if you factor in the trade we did to land him. Top 5 player easily. We actually got better last night after all the dominoes fell and when you look at who is available day 2. Its a win win for us.Thoughts?

Agree, this draft is underwhelming and Cooper is a stud

Don't worry. If Moore is bad I hear that the laundry woman at the training facility is a football genius.

I'm not saying I agree with his promotion. It's not something I would have picked. But there's no point in worrying about it. If he does great, that's awesome. If he crashes and burns, that means a high draft pick and hopefully Garrett gone. Win-win scenario if you ask me

You're both wrong and right. By the time Linehan became OC, Romo had many years of experience. Romo is also a bigger student of the game than Dak. When it's a young inexperienced QB on the field, I certainly blame the OC.
