All the more reason you should be down on Iloka. If Sendejo can’t even start for us, it’s more likely Iloka doesn’t even make it out of training camp than he beats out Heath. Not drafting Thornhill was a statement Heath is the answer now, and likely into the future.

No it wasn't. It wasn't a statement about Hill plain and simple. Go troll elsewhere.

That is the beauty of it..Illoka likely gets cut unless he is super motivated, which he should be.

The other thing is we don't pack it up after thrth rounds here in Dallas...this is where the draft starts. I want to see what they do here.

Do not be fooled. They were absolutely looking to upgrade the Safety position. Now that they didn't, and likely won't, they are in PR spin mode

Lol believe what you want but what price are they doing? None. Did they want HOF thomas, sure who didn't but they only wanted to upgrade at the right price like I said. They are not willing to invest max money or draft capital at this time and that is fact. When a team has an opportunity to sign Thomas or draft a highly rated safety and doesn't that is not PR. You saw them pass on these guys at their current price. Instead they signed iloka cheap and probably use a pick on a guy today.

George Iloka is a bum

They were undecided between Thornhill or Trysten Hill.

Its obvious they want to upgrade there

Here comes the coach potato GMs

What's funny is that the 'couch potato gms' are often right about things that the team refuses to admit. Obviously, we are dead wrong all the time too--but we don't see the team through the same rose-colored glasses as the actual GM and HC.

Once again, people tend to try to act like they know than whats going on in the building.

We all know Heath is terrible and Iloka is just average. But we have to respect Richard's choice and know he knows what he's doing. There is a reason he is there and we are on our computers.

I still would loveeeee Amani Hooker and believe he's a day one starter or takes over for Iloka eventually.

Agreed that Heath was terrible in '18.

The thing is he was decent in both '16 & '17.

I seen a lot of Iloka games with the Bengals. Always liked him. As this is one of the main reasons I think they are waiting on drafting a S. In which I still do think they need to draft one today in the 4th round.
But I am fine with Iloka back there.

I think they pass on S now altogether. You'll likely see at least 2 CBs drafted today, one early.

Hahahahahahahaha

That's why we brought in every safety in the draft for a visit.

Meaningless spin

And why they had to decide between Hill or Thornhill at 58. Jerry flat out admitted the pick was going to be a S if they didn't take Hill.

Heath/Iloka will be serviceable this season but we need to improve the position. Was there anyone there in round 3 that would do so? I personally think Rapp was the only guy that would have improved us in round 2. Thornhill and Adderley are more FS types imo. Would Hill have been there at 90 if we took Rapp at 58? I think there’s a definite possibility he would have been.

They signed Iloka so they weren't stuck having to draft a position for need. They obviously thought Hill was BPA.

Maybe every blue moon but not often. I personally have learned over the last 6 or 7 drafts to try to find out why they liked a player because more often that not we draft players for fit. LVE is the best example of that. Listening to Kris and Rod about LVE right after we drafted him and what he was going to provide for the defense in our scheme played out exactly how they described it.

He's a bum on the downward part of his career. He's basically here to fill in if someone gets hurt.
