My opinion is usually skewed by what I’ve seen from the player.

Sometimes I’m wrong but sometimes so are they. They are nothing special and anyone who follows football and the draft for most of their life can identify prospec s at a similar level to these clowns who pick punters and kickers in the 4th and 5th round.

NFL scouts don’t deserve to be put on a pedestal.

Anytime someone's resume' is such that other people will PAY THEM to do a job, it's probably smart to regard their job as more worthy of said pedestal than those of us who do other things for a living, and only do football as a matter of recreation.

Am I wrong?

meaning let the Pros ie FO and Scouts who choose these guys have the benefit of the doubt as they are truly more experienced in the football player business..

Striking me as being arrogant. Like they think they know better. When it looks like the exact opposite.

Safety and cornerback still unaddressed while they took two backups to sit behind the two best players at their position in the league in Elliott and Martin

:banghead:
Disagree on McGovern. Collins is likely gone after this season and he will have a season under his belt to slide over at LG, while Williams goes to RT. The RB can return kicks and punts as well. But can be a solid guy behind Zeke, who can use more breathers. Not many guys taken in round three have an impact year 1. Looks like they stuck to their board.

McGovern is a run game monster. But for all the talk of his pass game weaknesses, he only allowed 15 pressures in pass protection over 13 games last year.

Just when you think this FO might finally have it figured out... they remind us that they really don’t. When you don’t have many holes to fill, you trade up and get your guy. We did the opposite.

Hate this draft. McGovern was our best pick.

Serious question.
Who should we have moved up from 58 for?

It amazes me how most of y’all don’t work for nfl teams. The knowledge and draft expertise on this board is incredible. Y’all are so smart and know absolutely everything

Not necessarily talking about 58. We screwed the pooch in the 4th imo.

That’s where I disagree.

We traded the 2nd to last pick in the fourth round.
We got back a fifth(Only 22 spots after our fourth we traded) a sixth and a seventh.

We gained two additional chances to hit for a 22 spot drop 130+ picks into the draft. Deionte Thompson and Mack wilson were the only real names that went between 136-157 that were linked to us and both had concerns. There’s a reason everyone passed on deionte for four rounds. Degenerative knee issues. And Mack had attitude problems and wouldn’t even conform for Saban, but he’s going to for garrett?

They are maki gtbese amall later rou d tradedowns. Ecause they do t have specific players targeted.

Maybe we like Renfro, but they probably had a dozen players that THEY rated better or as good, so they still got one of those players but added another pick.
Is that english?

NFL is the good ole boys league. There is a lot of people with jobs that don’t deserve them.

How would a normal person become an nfl scout? It’s almost impossible.

It’s all about connections and who they know. That’s why most of these coaches have fathers who coached in the league.

If you want to put their opinion on a pedestal then by all means go ahead but if you pay close enough attention then you’ll see that they do a lot of stupid stuff.

Someone drafted Tim Tebow with their first rounder..

The Bucs drafted a kicker in the 2nd round that’s out of the league.

These are some extreme examples but there are thousands of other examples of players your hardcore draft fans who study players during the offseason could tell you would be garbage that nfl teams still over drafted.

Our very own Cowboys dedicated an entire draft to special teams... That is moronic.

I agree. Even with some 1st rounders, you never know. It's how you fill out your roster. And also by doing so with an eye to the (early) future.

The exact same mentality was used in the 2009 draft when Jerry thought the team was so elite that he only drafted
Total Practice Squad draft except for the DT.
lmao, yes, the one area that all of these Zoner draft Guru types have missed. A practice squad draft. The 53 man roster is so good that Jerry is investing this draft to show the rest of the league what a great practice squad looks like when you invest draft picks to upgrade. Jerry is playing chess while the other GMs are playing checkers.
