Heath's problem is not himself.
He's just a football player looking to make the team. He has no authority on who is at camp, and who makes the roster.
As for this past season some of the facts we know. In September Heath was on the losing end of a truckstick hit by Kerryon Johnson's helmet that made him at times of the season a one handed player.
If you look at Heath's linecard you could get a forecast of what his season was going to look like with an injured shoulder...not good. Also if you want to rag on Heath, Austin was injured in the same game and whined and almost folded up his tent based on the interviews he gave after the game.
The game most fans dump their load into their shorts when it comes to Heath is the Rams game. I still postulate that Heath wasn't the biggest problem in that game. The defensive line was. It was horrible.
The defensive coaching staff had no answer and could find no understanding of what the offensive genius was doing to Dallas. Jeff wasn't in a place to win that game.
His talent is heart, intensity, foot speed, and tracking the ball in the air from the deep position. This kid can track and catch a ball like a WR.
He can't make coaching decisions. He can't sign players to come to camp. He can't make decisions on drafting players.
I am fairly certain he won't get lost on another play like he did on the Goff run. He seems to be smart enough to learn from this type of mistake.
Dallas does need to upgrade both safety positions if they can. The league is trending this way. But I would not toss Heath out the door as some want us to.
