Hills issues are the same as Greg Ellis with Parcells

I'm still puzzled why the new UCF coach would have switched from a 4-3 to a 3-4, after taking over a team that just went undefeated 13-0, and laid stake to the National Championship, and had recruited players the last 3 years for a 4-3 defense, and coached them to play in a 4-3 defense........why he would switch to a new 3-4 defense?

Two words: His way.

He is familiar with his system and thinks it will work. Coaches tend to implement their systems not their predecessor's system.

I hope he does have the same issues. Greg Ellis only pro bowl year was the year he switched from RDE to OLB in Parcell's 3-4 D.

People are trying to make Hill’s issues that of Baker or T.O., when it has nothing to do with off field chemistry.

Hill was not happy how he was being utilized going from 4-3 to 3-4. Well history shows there is another cowboy who had that problem, Greg Ellis.

He didn’t like the switch and let it be known. Eventually he got over it and a very productive career as an OLB with at least 7.0 sacks every year he played more than 9 games. Even when he only played 9 games he had 4.5 sacks.

Find me some other “maturity” issue other than what is a cowards way to discredit Hill.

Cowboys also just got their RE for the very same reason. Quinn wasn’t as good in the 3-4. He may not have been vocal about it but that’s what happens in scheme changes.

I have grown to trust in this Scouting Department, our Defensive Coordinator...and with your added perspective, this kid as well.

Believe me, I'm rooting for him, and the depth this addition gives the Dallas defensive line.

Do you know of these Hill character issues directly or are you just parroting the Fake News media which we all know spins a story any way they decide?

Ahhh yes. If there’s information being reported that isn’t convenient or nice to hear, it must be fake.

You forgot to mention that they’re the enemy of the people.

Looks like you're wrong about scheme. Wikipedia has him playing DE his freshman year, DT his junior year. That makes more sense for going from 3-4 to 4-3.

Still, the report was that he was disgruntled and didn't get to start, while still improving his stat line.

Hill - combine freak who despite not starting this last year, still improved his stat line compared to the previous year when he did start.

The more I hear, I more I like him.

Sports UCF Knights
Early look at revamped UCF defense among three things we learned from Knights' spring game
Chris HaysContact ReporterOrlando Sentinel
While the UCF offense gets most of the attention, the Knights’ defense is quietly going through a makeover.

It is one of three things we learned from the Knights' spring game Saturday at Spectrum Stadium.

1. A new defensive scheme

The Knights showed signs of what the defense will look like in the fall under the direction of new coordinator Randy Shannon. While we’re sure many of the new wrinkles were not unveiled during the spring game, there was at least something to go by. Under Shannon and new head coach Josh Heupel, the Knights' defense can be expected to take on a number of looks, the newest of which will be a four-man front on the defensive line.

That’s where UCF will need several players to step up following the departures of defensive linemen Jamiyus Pittman and Tony Guerad. The lone returning starter from last year’s 3-4 scheme is Trysten Hill, but others will be expected to step into leading roles.

Looks like the OP got his story wrong on the changing college Defense. Seems Hill was disgruntled going from a 0/1-tech NT (3-4 D) to a 3-tech DT (4-3 D) where he never started but ended up being most productive career-wise. The Cowboys run a 4-3 D where Hill will be used as a 3-tech DT. Will Hill start questioning his role as a 4-3 DT or will he be a good soldier? That is the question.

Maybe just maybe this kid Hill can bring some attitude to the this defense. Every great defense has at least one bad boy on it that runs his mouth and backs it up.

Seems like you're skirting the main issue of the thread you started. That being the facts superonyx pointed out of UCF using a 3-4 and switching to a 4-3 in his senior year. That's entirely opposite of what you posted. Just man up already

Since you also seem to want to start multiple posts to show your man love for Hill, just remember this : ultimately it's not going to be you or anyone else here that decides what this guy becomes as a player. It's all on him.

But folks such as yourself seem to be obsessed with being right. Who gives a shiz what some poster thought about a player a year ago. Yet, someone always dredges up previous threads to prove they were right or someone else was wrong like they personally had something to do with how a player's career turned out. Friggin get a life.

Im pretty certain he was informed on how Dallas would use him prior to drafting him. I highly doubt he will have a problem with his role. We've done our homework and I dont expect any suprises with character.

The male brain doesn't fully develope until 27 years of age. Not too concerned about his football choices in college

He should be at home now in our 4-3. Plus Marinelli will get him up to snuff in the scheme. I hope he is a instant difference maker for us. We should have a nice rotation at DT.

Looks like we are better across the D-Line. Better mean we aren’t going to get gashed in the playoffs. We better disguise our stunts better this year. If the rams really did figure something out then bet the rest of the league will know it.

He also balked at having to go from 4-3 DE to OLB
He squeaked as he knew what it would do for his production numbers and chance of all pro/ probowl. He did the team a favor with the injuries and his contract and career suffered for the switch.
