McGregor was our best value pick and sets us up great to move on from Collins next year. Maybe this year. That's a big deal.

We've already signed a SS to get Heath out of the box. Woods and Frazier should both be better.

There are still free agent safeties out there. Berry is still out there. Move Collins, save 10 mil, spend a chunk of that on Berry. I think that makes us a lot better team.

We're not done yet. If they wanted to draft a safety at 90, they'll still be looking at free agents.

Passing up the value McGregor gave would have been a mistake.

So is this "Connor McGregor" going to be a thing now?

The fans were sold a bill of goods by the media on Juan Thornhill and left to stew that they didn't get what they were anticipating. Hence, the fuss.

As it turns out, McGovern had his own set of advantages that were also great. Put a carrot before a goat and he'll go b-a-a as it's taken away!

The smart move wouldve been to draft Thornhill at 58 and move up to take Hill. It wasnt costing a fortune to move up in this draft. Then again, Jerry always gets fleeced in draft day trades, maybe it wouldve....

I think that’s a legitimately fair question.

You can even argue they take Hill at 58 (since they valued him more than either Thornhill or Rapp), then trade up and secure Will Harris somewhere before pick 90.

I’m of the mindset you put yourself into position to grab the highest rated players on your board (within reason). The notion of “we let the board come to us” is problematic.

Id much rather walk away from the Draft with 4-5 players you targeted versus 7-8 players you settled on.
