Cowboys need to be more like NE in draft

NE getting best draft grades across board from everyone I have checked in with. This is team coming off SB. They load up where it counts (7 picks in rounds 2-4). They don't waste time in 6th & 7th round (only 1 pick for both rounds). Get steal of draft imo in 4th round with Jarrett Stidham QB.

Until the NE era of supremacy is over, they will always get good grades.

You could say they are setting the curve on the grading because whatever they are doing must be alright.

I dunno, I didn't really look at NE's draft this year, buy IMO, they have not been stellar in recent years with the draft

I did a double-take seeing the Patriots were a good drafting team. They build their roster through affordable free agent signings.

Not a bad class this year though.

Players come from 6th, 7th rounds. And as we know, UFA too. Talent or raw talent. Keep turning.

I think new England's success comes mostly due to great coaching. I think they had a pretty good draft though.i think the cowboys had a few good picks in the later rounds .Mike Weber, Joe and Michael Jackson. Hopefully Donovan Wilson can challenge heath

they had incredible draft. And they have 13 draft picks already lined up for next draft. That team is going to be completely rebuilt in two years.

Winovich is such a NE pick. They’ll turn him into a pass rushing terror from the OLB spot.

Grades mean absolutely nothing immediately after a draft.

And weird thread. Compare our drafts to NE's over the last 5 years and McClay and company have been running circles around them.

They still have Brady and the GOAT coach though so they can get away with mediocre drafts.

I’ve watched Stidham for 2 years. He has a good arm, but horrible pocket presence. Holds onto the ball way to long and takes too many sacks instead of throwing it away.

He has good mechanics, but poor instincts.

The Patriots just seem to draft better because they stockpile compensatory picks thanks to people overestimating the talent because they win all the time.

They will just end up trading him for picks just like Garoppolo and Brissett when Brady is still playing three years from now.
