Fredericks loss hurt but Looney was fantastic.

The loss of Frederick wasn’t nearly as bad as it could’ve been. We still got above average play from the center position which is why I think Looney deserves a chance to start at left guard.

I am not sure we got above average, but we definitely got at least average, and that in itself was a huge win. Outside of Martin, Looney was the best OL we had last year. Tyron was still above average but not dominating. Collins was up and down as was the LG spot.

This is the one pick i'm down with.

It doesn't take long to see that this guy can play and might bring back some of that push in the middle that Ron Leary brought while he was here.

He should've gone earlier then he did and I would like to know where the Cowboys had him because they themselves said they had him ranked above the 3rd round.

We stole that player and added him to our best unit.

If Frederick is back then our interior will be nasty.

Someone is probably going to get traded.

Also, if they plan on Connor Williams being our future Right Tackle.. Just make the transition now and either move La'el back to left Guard or try and see if you can move him for a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Teams are desperate for Olineman and he could bring us a solid pick if they don't plan on resigning him.

I like the pick but the OL was hardly our best unit.
they couldn't get Zeke 50y on the ground in a play off game ... wrap your mind around hat for a minute
and 56 reg season sacks
that is a C- at best

penciling in William at starting LG on draft day was plain stupid ... like a lot of college LTs one day he'll maybe beecome decent RT in the NFL
the idea he could handle the likes of Fletcher Cox or Aaron Donald was la la land

they did the right thing and drafted a real OG

Tyron made pro bowl, NFL top 100, and was ranked #1 in the entire NFL for pressures allowed per attempt along with being ranked top 10 in run blocking........

He's not unanimous 1st team all-pro like he use to be but calling him "above average" is a 100% JOKE.......

Have some respect

Yeah because guys don't make the Pro Bowl based upon past history. And PFF is a joke.

Tyron is one of my favorite players on this team and will be a Hall of Famer someday. That doesn't mean I have to watch him with blinders on. He isn't elite right now and hasn't been for 2-3 years. I saw more whiffs on blocks from him this year than I think in any three years of his.

For me.. If he can move people at all then I start him over Connor Williams.

Joe Looney should also be a factor as well.

Connor needs to be more then just a get in the way guy this year if he wants to keep that spot.
seen the pics of a well beefed up C.Will on fishing trip with Zach Martin and Tyron Smith
………...he looks every bit as big as those 2...….he has stacked on the strength

There are multiple thing's id like to us do.

Trade Collins and move Connor W. out to RT and left Connor M. and whoever compete at LG.

Keep Collins and let him and Connor W. compete at RT and let Connor M. and whoever compete at LG.

Keep Collins but move him to LG and let him compete with Connor M at LG.

Basically let RT and LG be open for competion and start your best 5. Collins is a above avg RT and shouldn't have ever been put out there, he was better at LG than he is at RT.

Williams definitely looks bigger than a year ago, will be interesting to watch some of the OL battles as they develop.

McGovern moves people like Leary did.
He doesn't get pushed around. Strong player.
Plays like an alpha male.
I would prefer to start him at LG THIS year. Move Connor Williams to RT and let him compete with Collins.
Williams has excellent feet, so they say, and with more muscle he should be able to handle himself very well at RT.
I like Collins, but I like saving 10 million dollars while possibly upgrading RT moreso.
Bring back that mean streak we lost when big Ron left.

And they've also covered themselves with Cam Fleming on a two year deal, if need be. He's their insurance policy if plan A doesn't work out.

His two year deal looks like a one year deal to me. 2020 is another of our soon to be infamous "option" years which keep the comp pick in play if we don't pick it up. We're not spending 4.5 on Fleming next year.

He's option C. If option A doesn't work out, they'll be looking for another option before they go with Fleming.

Without Beard in there..

it's hard to evaluate Williams.

As a rookie not many just come in and succeed.

Let's see how Beard comes back.

If that happens..

Williams looks much better at G or T.

Martin was dinged late in the year, too.

So if anything..this new PL guy can move around and help everybody last.

It's said he plays center, too.

We may need it.

Yeah, Tyron's still great.
His concerns are health, not performance.

I'm just grateful the War Room addressed my one&only urgent concern in this draft by scooping him up& slapping the route#66 jersey on him,,, hopefully he opens up some cool tool cruising for #21:thumbup:

:starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin::starspin:

I may actually purchase that jersey.

I 'd look at a UDFA Central Missouri’s Derrick Puni 6 -4 #320

On the pro-day circuit, some small-school players stand out, and Puni is one of them of this year. The 6-foot-4, 326-pounder has good size and was athletic in the field work. His numbers of a 32-inch vertical jump, a 9-foot-1 broad jump, 4.77 seconds in the short shuttle, and 1.84 seconds in the 10-yard split were all very impressive numbers for an offensive lineman. He has special athleticism to project as a swing tackle/guard backup who could develop into a starter. Puni could end up being a late-round pick or a priority free agent who ends up being a steal.

LOOK in draft zone I mean this guy was throwing people to the ground
