It's the job of a REAL head coach to approve game plans, dictate the tempo of the game, and protect the other side of the ball throughout the game. If you don't know what that means I'll be glad to explain. I think most of our Zoners understand.
Show me where I said it wasn’t? Jeez you’re a tool.

Some people like to be negative about everything and some people like to stay positive. It’s a choice but whichever side you chose defines you.
And what of those that see the different sides and are both at the same time.

Just because someone isn't on board with Booger, Garrett, Prescott or Moore doesn't make them a negative person. And Rocky, there is the history of this team over the last 20+ years to help build some of that negativity some have.

And even if some posters want to be negative, what's the harm? They feel like they feel. This forum exists just as much for venting as it does support.

You have called me negative in a general sense based on a specific post and that is not the case. But even if I post a negative one, debate that thought and don't try labeling me based on some posts on a damned sports forum. Unlike some here, whether this team wins or loses has no effect on my life. Win the SB or go 0-16, my life stays the same.

Agree but the mere existence of the unknown invites fill in. And a lot of that is based on the lean of the poster. I haven't seen any posters not up on the season, up on Moore and I don't see many of them laying it atr his feet.

Very few OC's have their own playbook, they're derivatives. Zampese's was derived from Coryell's and Turner's was derived from Zampese's. Look at all of the derivatives form Bill Walsh.

I do believe Moore has some of his own plays because Lee mentioned seeing them. Garrett's playbook isn't a bad one, his strategies are fine, it is the tactics that Linehan didn't have that hurt the offense. And there may be that issue of a lack of confidence in the QB for certain plays that Linehan had.

The fact is we just don't know. No one here has seen enough of him to really formulate a sound opinion of him as an OC.
Right and why it’s premature to spin in either direction.

Moore is the perfect blank slate for people to project their feelings on.

For the optimists, he will reform the offense into something modern and innovative. There is basically no evidence that this is true since he has never been an NFL OC before. He literally never did the thing that people are claiming he will do.

For the pessimists, he'll just be another offensive troglodyte trying to party like it's 1992, without reference to all the changes to the league since then or what the team's current roster even is. We have no evidence he's going to do this either.

It’s all about consistency. I don’t like Jerry as a GM and have said such in the past for example. But I chose not to dwell on the negative ALL the time. It’s just not mentally healthy. There are many posters here who do. They are miserable people. They enjoy it. I don’t want to be friends with those types. It just brings you down. It’s poisonous. I don’t have any problem with those who occasionally post something negative. Nothing wrong with that. The Cowboys have made some huge mistakes in the past.

How in the hell are posters going to post about anything related to the unknown without a little spin?

What the hell, let's just put every thread about the unknown up there with the first post "I don't know" and we can all just Like it or add our "Me neither" to it.

About this unknown, the positive I hear is from people's opinions I trust. The negatives are from posters opinions I do not trust about this subject because they do not have any additional information about this subject. Nothing more than a feeling and that affects spin.

Posters pretty much down on this season are down about everything about it. That serves as the intent or inflection in their posts. And I am not here to argue with them or call them out, I will state what I think and we can debate that but how they feel about this is not in the debate.

I am sick of seeing these posts about posters' opinions and most of the time they're just calling the poster out, not addressing their reasons for feeling the way they do. I can make a strong case for either side for this season.
That’s fine but then that’s also spinning the spin choosing who you trust . Just saying..

Hey, I was called out for presenting a negative spin . I’m not the one who started this thread. Just responding to it. If their only comeback is my spin is negative then they probably realize they have a weak argument.

There’s a place for all fans from cheerleaders to critics. It’s just sad when their only rebuttal is “ negative “ or “ hater”. Our team , it’s direction, decisions and results drive most of the rhetoric.

We tried that “ Silver Lining “ thread in old forum and it was a ghost town. These forums and social media is driven much by giving a voice to anyone with a keyboard. We must all try to coexist.

The best example or analogy I’ve always used is it’s like attending a game. We often don’t like how the fan next to us conducts or expresses themselves but they paid for their ticket too. If your not up to the toleration and patience needed to mingle in public, perhaps you should stay at home . Not directed at you but others.

You can spin your negative personality anyways you want to try and make yourself feel better but your posts here in the past are the facts.

There’s no reason to expect a new offense. Much like with Linehan it’s Garretts offense. Moore’s contribution will be play calling and schemes within the offense.

I’m certainly not aware of any “ new” offense Moore has developed or brought with him?
Exactly! This Moore experiment needs to run its course but your right about Garrett's offense.

You're so positive. That's great, do you wear a clown outfit and juggle at parties? Just asking for a friend. If you do, pm me your hourly rate. If you don't, I apologize for the assumption.

I think this is very true....like I mentioned before, most of the play designs, routes, etc. are similar, its play calling on game day that separates good OCs from average ones.

I wonder how much input Garrett had in the Moore OC decision? If Moore fails miserably, Garrett will be blamed regardless.

It’s hard to say. Remember Garrett was caught off guard that Linehan was being fired. One day there wasn’t going to be any coaching changes, couple days later Adios.

Maybe.

If Jason truly is on the hot seat, how likely is it he just gives the reigns to this guy?

The Cowboys have won 32 games in the last 3 seasons yet can’t get over the hump. The offense has been just good enough but the defense, minus the playoff game against the Rams, has been the best unit on the team. Linehan’s offense was old school and predictable. High school coaches were calling their plays just by looking at down and distance and how they lined up. Finally, we have a young, unknown by the league new offensive QB. I don’t think for a second it’s going to be Linehan’s offense with just some new wrinkles. His job is on the line. His reputation is on the line and Garrett is going to let him run this offense. I’m expecting a almost completely new offense. It can’t be any other way. You have to let a new offensive coordinator be the offensive coordinator. I know the Debbie Downer habitual whiners won’t agree, but that’s to be expected. They’ll say it’ll be the same ole same ole with just a couple new wrinkles. That’s what they do. Live as a pessimist.

I don't know what we'll get from Moore. He was Linnehan's boy from their days in Detroit and that rolled over to Dallas. I'm no Debbie Downer or habitual whiner but he never impressed me as a QB here, admittedly never watched him in college. Can he be his own guy or did Scott rub off on him? Can he be his own guy or will JG reel him in? I have no basis for expecting him to be good or bad BUT historically, first year OCs aren't very successful. If our offense get's off to a rough start like 2018, expect the knives and pitchforks to come out. And for gods sakes lets see more than 1/4 of the starters in the pre-season games!

I'll take the bright side and say, good coaches and teachers are not always great players. The thing is I don't know that he was a great teacher as QB coach.
