So I am not huge PFF guy but these stats are good overall. Particularly when it comes to line play (either side) I believe my eyes. When I watch him I dont see an explosive first step or great closing speed. He is good against the run and is efficient player overall. Is his role as LDE run stopping type who occasionally gets moved inside? If he makes it that is what it looks like to me.

I think he can be a Stephan Bowen before his breakout type player. Energy and effort 4 DE that can make a play here and there

Right now he is just another 5th round DE. They seem to want 5th round DE then tout how they got great value with them. Or the we’re playing in the wrong system or scheme.
Then they take up a roster spot for a few years until they draft the next one.

PS player for now, until proven otherwise. But like I said, they like these guys and tend to keep their draft picks at the expense of others sometimes.

However I will pull for him to contribute and develop.

In this defense, I think we'll try to develop him into an interior pass rusher. I do agree that he could also receive snaps on run downs at a DE spot.

Heath made it.

He sucks.

Not sure if you are serious or not. Lol.

But they liked Heath because he was and is a very good athlete.
They selected him in the draft, because of that, and since he was from a small school. They wanted to take time to develop him.
But a lot of injuries they were forced to play him before he was ready. And looked ever part of a very raw rookie that had no experience against a lot better players than he seen in college.

Now, since he has been in the NFL for a while now. He hasn’t lit the position on fire by any means. But he isn’t all as bad as the usuals say either.
Not a starter but a good fill in or spot player. As well as a very good ST player.

Dude is way to weak at this level. He needs atleast 1-2 years in the weight room or a good year on roids to compete here.

He's a power player which the league has had success with. I also heard he had some kind of injury during workout time.

I love DEs that are 6'5 or taller...Jackson reminds me of a throwback 80's/90's kinda DE.
tough,physical player.
good vs the run.
can get after the QB....Jackson was a favorite of mine going into the draft.
glad we got him.
if Taco doesn't get his head right...Joe Jackson is gonna take his spot.
