If he comes out and plays like a combination of Rodger and Brady, they will still be Daknuts who wouldn't want him starting. They are Dak fans not Cowboys fans.

Why isn't Dak's story a Cinderella story on par with Romo's? The guy was a rookie not even promised to make the team and became the single biggest difference that saved 2016 from being a repeat of 2015.

Careers, not single season.

This is true. But Romo is just the most recent. There was Kurt Warner and Brady before him. These unexpected hits now lead fans to believe they have the next best thing since toilet paper just sitting on the bench and the coaching staff doesn't know it.
,,,Er,,, you're talking about that one guy we had that one time ,huh?,,, ya, that one who sported the #17 jersey, who's red headed& slapped his shoulder pads ,helmet & j-strap on the door knob of the exit hatch as he walked away into the retirement of his active " playing " career, once he foresaw opportunity looming to be THAT man under center.

*
That is my #1 longstanding issue I grudgingly bare towards Jason Garretto_O

Difference is that Romo was a broken down QB at the time. No way Dak beats out Tony in his prime.
#4 couldn't of beaten #9 in 2016 once he was medically cleared to play.
* although, you-tubing #4's 2016 season highlights are kinda' mesmerizing, like that Pittsburgh donny brook(7 lead changes in that one),,,or the forcefully exerted ripping of that smug screaming BALTIMORE monkey offa' our backs Forever,,, (IDK, FELLERS)

I didn't read all the responses, but my 2 cents, sign a proven backup and move on from both White and Cooper. Who, l don't know yet, but one will undoubtedly become available.
You should go back and read 'em.

Why do people keep trying to find reasons to move on from dak? He had an amazing rookie year, a sophomore slump, a strong 3rd season showing major progress and is poised to breakout this year...

If mike white plays well then we either have a good backup for a few years or follow the patriot model and trade him for some good draft capital.

But dak is the qb for the next decade. Period

dak has shown improvement but has not done anything to say he is a top 10 QB in the NFL . Which is what dallas will need to go to the super bowl .
he made too many mistakes last year and has missed many open throws. He was not the answer against the rams or the colts or tennesee etc. He needs to prove it on the feild. Just look at Baker Mayfeild , a rookie , what a difference he made. Great QBs show up by quickly .

Even tho everyone will call me crazy still think Romos our backup if something happens to Dak and we are in playoff contention.
