Dak should follow Tom Brady's example

Dak Prescott is the 70th highest paid QB in the NFL today. Matthew Stafford probably made more in 1 half than Prescott did all season in terms of salary.

Dallas ALREADY got their discount. It is MORE THAN FAIR that Dak Prescott ask and gets market rate.

You're assuming too much. Not everyone believes Dak is equal to Stafford. I for one would trade Dak for Stafford straight up in a heartbeat. But the Lions aren't that stupid.

I am sure you would...then again you would probably trade Dak for Nathan Peterman straight up too.
The point is that the Cowboys already got their discount -- in fact, three years worth...Dak is well within his rights to demand to be paid market rate. Period. End. of. Discussion.

Got MFers like Jimmy G making more in one game than Dak has made in his entire career.

Don't know who this Nathan guy is. Never heard of him. Cowboys also got their discount with Quincy Carter too, doesn't mean he's worth signing at market value. You'd be right under normal circumstances. But there are people here that don't believe Dak is worth a second contract, period. You do, I'm ok with that.

I think Jessica Simpson would have been a poor choice. She is barely relevant now. Total dumb mess.

I do think Romo blew it with Underwood though.

I don't listen to country music noise, but I understand she is still relevant in that genre.

Jessica Simpson's clothing line was bringing in like a billion dollars when she cashed out of it. She's doing very well.

Brady is the model for humbleness and team sacrifice in the Cap era. His longevity and success will more than make up for a few million less a year he’s earning on the field. It’s also a testament to his competitive spirit that he takes the ultimate one( less money) for the team.

Tom Brady isn't humble at all, he's just calculated. Dude wants to win at all costs (which is admirable and how I wish more players would look at things) but between his wife, his endorsements, and the patriots paying to use the TB12 system, he's mega wealthy as it stands already. Throwing in the ability to be competitive year in and year out, spanning three decades now and it's understandable.

How do fans get out of this that Tom was serious about the Gisele comment when it was clearly sarcasm.

He went on to say it was the salary cap.

Imo that was a shot back at Daks comment about Brady and Gisele.

clearly sarcasm? there's zero chance that it's not a major factor

Not trolling. Romo would have at least 2 Super Bowls if he could have locked things in with Jessica Simpson or Carrie Underwood. It would have given the Cowboys plenty of cap space.
Carrie Underwood is strong Jessica is super weak now. It’s almost sad

Where did Brady rank in salary prior to meeting Giselle?

A quick Google search has Carrie Underwood at a net worth of about $85 million and Jessica Simpson at $150 million. I have no idea how accurate these celebrity net worth sites are.

If you really want to follow Brady's example you have to teach the team that you play the game to win championships, not earn spots in the pro bowl.

Dink 'n dunk Dak averaged more yards per attempt, more yards per completion, had a higher completion percentage, lower interception percentage, higher TD percentage, a higher passer rating, passed for more yards, and won more games than Stafford last season.

It's beyond me how people don't comprehend how much difference 10 mil makes when building a roster. Especially since we already went the route of paying high dollar to our starters. When you do that, your backups will be trash, and this is a game where player often get hurt. We got derailed many times over the years when we were maxing out contracts for our starters.

Jerry is not cheap, not by any stretch of the imagination. What he is struggling w/ mightily is simply making personnel decisions in a football smart manner. He doesn't comprehend who to pay and who not to pay.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap30...-brady-on-salary-my-wife-makes-a-lot-of-money

Brady explained to Kimmel why, in the age of record-breaking QB contracts, he remains the 18th highest-paid QB in AAV ($15 million).

"That's a good question. That's usually, when I don't want to answer a question, I always say, 'That's a good question,'" Brady said when asked why he isn't the highest-paid player in football. "I think the thing I've always felt for me in my life, winning has been a priority. And my wife [model Gisele Bundchen] makes a lot of money.

"I'm a little smarter than you think. Actually, it's a salary cap. You can only spend so much and the more that one guy gets is less for others. And for a competitive advantage standpoint, I like to get a lot of good players around me."

Dak should marry Kylie Jenner. Kylie is a billionaire. Dak could easily steal Kylie away from Travis Scott. Dak needs to think about his legacy. Romo had the chance to pull off something similar with Jessica Simpson and Carrie Underwood. However, he failed to seal the deal.
I rolled my eyes big-time at this...

Brady made his money plus endorsements. Also add in the fact his wife makes $$$$. Dak might have this feel later on his career.

You called it, If anyone saw the whole segment not the edited cut part I believe TB was having fun and was being sarcastic as "I'm a little smarter than you think. Actually, it's a salary cap. You can only spend so much and the more that one guy gets is less for others. And for a competitive advantage standpoint, I like to get a lot of good players around me." tells what he really does, also I bet anyone that their money isn't mixed. TB isn't underpaid by any stretch and his wife's money IMHO doesn't influence his salary one way or the other.

Both Eli Manning and Jim Plunket won two Super bowls. Dan Marino, Dan Fouts, and Warren Moon didn't win any. There is a reason statistics is considered one of the three types of lies. Lies, damn lies, and statistics. It's in there because people often use them as a last resort to paint a picture no one else sees.

not on the first big one
Tom Brady at the end of this season has 227 million made from just football
He’s made his money and when others get that age they will take less too
No player is taking less on their first deal

Don't know why you'd say that. A primary reason why NE stays in contention is due to not being forced to pay their QB a ton. If we have to pay Dak like 35 mil/season, there is a very good possibility that our super bowl contention goes out the window. Why is pointing this out being a troll? I don't get it.
Except they have paid him a ton of money
They just aren’t this year

Dak has achieved more than Stafford in 3 years than Stafford has achieved in his entire career. Stafford was a #1 overall pick and hasn't done anything.
