I’m kind of a broken record but I’m really not sure this guy is a starter let alone bank breaking earner.

I’m not being funny or inflammatory when I say if I ran the team I would bring in serious competition.

I mean **** romo lost his job to a rookie. If dak puts up ten points 3 games in a row again I would’ve loved to bring in Ryan Fitzpatrick for a spark.

Idk man we gave this 4th rounder the keys to the franchise and he put the sucker on cruisecontrol and is hogging the radio

Listen here, I live in the Bucs area code...........Fitzpatrick is not a spark, trust me on this one.

6 year extension, $180M, $35M signing Bonus, with $78M guaranteed - reported as $30M per season contract. Actual Numbers below:

Structure - Cash Flow
2019 - $2M salary, $35M signing bonus
2020 - $26M salary fully guaranteed - automatically restructured in March, 2020 to $1M salary + $25M restructure bonus;
2021 - $17M salary fully guaranteed
2022 - $18M salary
2023 - $19M salary
2024 - $30M salary
2025 - $35M salary

Salary CAP hits & Dead Money if cut or traded

2019 - $9M ($2M salary + $7M prorated Bonuses) - Dead Money = $78M

************* Begin Contract Extension ************************************************

2020 - $13M ($1M salary + $12M prorated Bonuses) - Dead Money = $71M
2021 - $29M ($17M salary + $12M prorated Bonuses) - Dead Money = $58M
2022 - $30M ($18M salary + $12M prorated Bonuses) - Dead Money = $29M

************* 3rd year out - save $14M on CAP by cutting or trading Dak ***********

2023 - $31M ($19M salary + $12M prorated Bonuses) - Dead Money = $17M

************* 4th year out - save $30M on CAP by cutting or trading Dak ***********

2024 - $35M ($30M salary + $5M prorated Bonuses) - Dead Money = $5M
2025 - $35M ($35M salary) - Dead Money = $0

Summary
Current Year salary of $2M
+ 6-year, 180M extension = 7-year, $182M contract, which averages $26M per season over 7 years.

First 4 years cash payout of $98M = $24.5M per season average - Cowboys can opt out of contract after 4 seasons, and pay less than $25M per season for Dak's next 4 seasons.
Final 3 years cash payout of $84M = $28M per season average (what Kirk Cousins signed for in 2018 is what Cowboys would pay in 2023 if they choose to keep Dak.)

Conclusion - This is a good deal for the Cowboys in current market conditions

1000% but I can see Dak people saying give my player an out if he leads the team to Super Bowl within the first 3-4 years. Other words, restructure for increase value or let me walk.

Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported the update Tuesday and noted the Cowboys have made "more progress" toward a new deal with Prescott than with wide receiver Amari Cooper, whose demands have been "shockingly high."

I ain't shocked . Been saying this was coming since the trade.

Cooper has Jerry over a barrel. Cowboy management desperately needs to sign Cooper or they will look like idiots for giving up a 1st for him. Cooper *does not* need to sign with the Cowboys. He's scheduled to make good money this year, and then he's off to free agency.

Do they want to franchise him next year? Are they sure they won't need that tag elsewhere?

The leverage is with Cooper. "Cooper is our 1st round pick" was counting their chickens before they're hatched. I expect Cooper's agent to turn the screws on Jerry. He's incompetent if he doesn't.

Well, you draft his replacement. If we let Zeke walk its not like we are going to run Rod Smith out there.
It'll be Bod Smith...

Just like that underwear stealer after Demarco!

Ryan Fitz is a joke and for Snacks (I call @MarionBarberThe4th "Snacks" from now on) to call upon that guy?
Yowza.

He's getting close to that guy who called for Chaz to get traded for a 3rd last year.

LOL.....so wasn't the only one notice this. It's exactly why I've said we HAVE to save 2020 tag for Coop. His agent knows he has Jerry by the balls and I expect him to use every ounce of it as leverage. Good news is next year's WR crop in the draft is suppose be pretty strong. If we can't get him to sign now, I'd consider using 1st or 2nd on his possible replacement, and tagging him couple years and letting him walk. But I honestly don't see it coming to that...

This is so bad. Other than cooper the last 19 wrs taken in the 1st round havent made a single pro bowl. So get rid of a 24 year pro bowl wr for a possible bust? Pay the man.

Ok does amari have to play this year, under the contract from oakland, or do we have to extend him, or sign him to a new contract??
Meaning what has to be done for him to play this year and what is his salary this season?

Cooper has the Jones family by the footballs. He is 24 years old and they traded a first round pick for him. He wants to be the highest paid reciever in football. Cooper and Dak will break the bank.
Yeah they panicked. They should have negotiated an extension as part of the trade. Now they have negative leverage.

Yeah and he is a top 5 pick. He is not taking a pay cut. Zeke's 5th year option is going to cost slot as well.

Fitzpatrick is trash. People fell for the whole "Fitzmagic" era that was short lived lol. Last I heard he came into this season 20 pounds overweight and laughed about it.

Why would he negotiate a extension when he could wait it out and get even more money? His team was never doing that or any smart agent. You bet on yourself every day out of the week if you feel you are worth it.

Thats all its worth.

Dak just led us to the playoffs and our first playoff win in years and made the pro bowl. And all a troll like you has to say is that he is average? LOL

That's no rumor, Jerry has openly said they are actively pursuing an agreement with Dak before the season starts. Meanwhile, Amri is focused on being a better WR and staying out of his agents business of getting him a new deal. It's as if Amari's agent already knows his client will have to wait until the Dak situation is settled.

Every thing points to average for Dak so far in his career , won a play off game , whoopee, big 6th or 7th alternate pro bowler (pretty sad what the pro bowl is today) Dak led nothing Cooper and Zeke led Dak just went for a ride, was pulled along, lets see if he can actually lead the team somewhere this year. I know when something goes wrong - Whaaaa- it's not Dak's fault is and will be your line because its your creed. As long as Dak has exceptional players around him that can carry him he can hold up his end of average, take them away and the excuses start flowing. Your DC fan hood accepts poor to mediocre results and a playoff game is now your lofty goal sad you low have sunk . No knock on Dak but at this point he isn't a championship caliber QB, hopefully he can become one only time will tell, you keep worshiping at his alter who knows miracles have happened.
