Thank you? Don’t see what a British dessert describes but good on you bro.
I've never been across the pond, but I knew it was a dessert.

Guy is always looking trying to be confrontational on here, makes me smile that you made him step in it..:)

Insinuating that people do not want Dak to get paid for "other reasons" is about as silly a comment that I've read on here.

Even with people I don't agree with on this board I've never got the impression there are other reasons.

Just because folks want what they think is the right way of doing a contract doesn't make their stance something other than their opinion.

Leave that crap on the curb where it belongs.

A fool and his money are soon parted! There is absolutely no reason to get this deal done!
AGREE...but its a double edged sword. We could tag him heading into 2020 or whatever...but how costly would that be for that year of cap space? Wouldn't it tie both hands behind our back? Do we have a team option for that 5th year?

Dak is being greedy. If he doesn't want to take this deal trade him. 30M is too much for a QB, we still have nickel CBs to sign.
I have said it before. When he fired his agent and went to CAA. He was not taking a home town discount. Not to get political but when he backed Jerrah with the flag controversy. He lost some street credibility. Jerrah going to have to pay for that.

When talking about a position that now will average 30 million+ AAV for a starter on a new contract, a few million here or there won't break the bank.

If you think 28 is fair, going to 30 is a 7% increase. Not earth shattering and since contracts aren't a constant value, the added money can be thrown in the later stages of the deal which would probably be restructured/redone if they are still sold on Dak in 3-4 years and they need to drop cap hits. I think the main thing that is taking time in negotiations is the signing bonus and total guaranteed.

It'll be one thing if 5 mil was fair, and the player wanted 7mil, or a 40% increase.

This deal will have anywhere from 150-180mil total non guaranteed cash depending on how long they want to make the contract.
worrying about 10-12 million over 5-6 years for a QB isn't something to freak out over.

I trust SJ and others in the FO to try to get a good deal.

Didnt the media say the same thing about Lawrence and then like 3 days later a deal was done. The media is just trying to sell their wares and we always buy it.

Offense wasn’t declining when he got Amari. Realistically Dak had about 16 games (second half of 2017 to first half of ‘18) where he played poorly. He does shoulder blame for that, but there were many other factors that went into those games as well.

If you look at the big picture and think Daks gonna come out in 2019 and stink it up you’re wrong
Also our offensive line was terrible last year. I believe Tyron was healthier then Zack and we know Frederick was out for the season. Nobody talks about the offensive line we put out there against the Skins, Saints, and Colts during the crucial stretch run. It was awful. Dak, Zeke, and Cooper should get paid to dollar.

The regret will start the minute he puts ink to paper. Book it. It will be the biggest mistake in Jerry's career. Sadly...fans will have to suffer through yet another Jerry Jones bufoonery @ QB.

You would think after all these years....Jerry would get it. You get what you pay for @ the QB position. The Quincy Carter debacle....Drew Henson. A hope and a prayer..w/ Bledsoe..Ryan Leaf....Hutchinson. An undrafted QB in Romo...throwing 4th round hailmary's @ Dak.

Yet in Jerry's world...he thinks by throwing money @ a guy...it's going to make him legit. Doesn't work that way.

All this contract is going to do is hamstring this franchise for years to come. You won't be able to trade him. You won't be able to cut him. Your going to have to let good players walk because you can't afford to keep everybody.

It's just insanity....of the Al Davis type. :(

Bro, you legitimately thought that Kellen Moore was the future at QB.

Love ya floaty, but let’s be realists here.

Fair point. 22 million for a Pro Bowl QB and Superbowl MVP.

Or reality set in with these teams. Foles hasn't played a full season in years. He had a really hot streak in 2018 where he took the Eagles to the SB. He was decent last year but if you look at his playoff games, he was not very good. He's also over 30. His resume screams inconsistency.

The reality is the league thinks less of Nick Foles than fans seemingly think of him.

I like Dak, but he is not elite and doesn't merit elite pay. 25 million a year is still too much but a lot easier to swallow than 30. I hope he becomes elite. Only time will tell. I'll root for him and continue to blame Garrett.
