Maybe next year we wise up and value the position---

Found my first one to keep an eye on beyond the likes of Grant Delpit, Xavier McKinney, Isaiah Simmons, etc.

Khaleke Hudson,Michigan...he plays LB but I think will be a S in the league...there are times in their scheme when they play him at S.
always around the ball.
physical.
good player.
watched several of their games last year and he always caught my attention.
good player...worth taking note.

One of these years we'll finally add some talent on the back end.

This year's class ended up being better than I thought ( I initially thought maybe 2 or 3 guys worthy)

I love next year's class. The three guys I really like have already been mentioned,,Delpit, Simmons, and Hudson.

I'm not even bothering to look at them. No chance, especially when Stephen said that they haven't spent resources at the position so it could be a position of importance before the draft.

Not sure why you guys put yourselves through this every year
You already know this, but it's my favorite position in football. Loved playing it, love coaching and recruiting it. I still can't believe we haven't had an impact safety back there since Darren Woodson and a pre-Kelly Rowland Roy Williams.

At this point, it's like the Front Office is playing chicken with the position. They've entrenched themselves into this stance that the position barely matters versus almost everyone (fans, media, other teams) who sees this as a weakness for the team. I think we're like bottom 4 in the league on spending on the safety position and while this Front Office has really improved, I just don't understand their stubborn stance on a position that to me is more valuable than ever in today's pass-happy game. I also think this Front Office likes to appear clever and goes against the grain to attempt to show that. They knew they needed a safety. They brought in a bunch before the draft and visited with at least three free agent safeties. I just think they mishandled the draft or prioritized some other players and in their usual manner, tried to spin it after the fact, that they weren't really all that interested in adding a safety.

I'll hold out hope yet again. I really like potential free agent Justin Simmons (Broncos), who we allegedly really liked in the draft that year.

I love Grant Delpit, but like many have said, he will go very high like the last stud LSU safety Jamal Adams.

I like Clemson's Isaiah Simmons and Michigan's Khaleke Hudson, who both play a more hybrid linebacker/safety position for their respected college teams. I see them both as Kam Chancellor-type strong safeties who can stay on the field as nickel linebackers on passing downs.

Gilman is an interesting kid. Decent size at 5-11, sound tackler, probably won't wow you with the physical traits like speed, etc. But he's smart and discplined (was at the Naval Academy for a few years before transferring to ND) and always seems to be in the right place at the right time. I've seen some early draft guides have him in the 3rd-4th round range.

As to safety, if they aren't 6 foot and 200 lb mind as well forget them because we ain't drafting them.

Its never too early to start taking a look at the safeties the Cowboys aren't going to draft next year.

At this point it’s my only interest in the draft. I have faith the team will fill in every other position including punter before addressing the safety position. I’m just thinking...what could we really need next year besides safety? Linebackers are cool, dline invested in, maybe a CB because Byron most likely gone. Oline won’t need a major investment, WR are good, RB will be good...TE and S are the main potential pieces needed. Then again the whole coaching staff could be blown up.

Bryce Hall (#34) from Virginia is one to watch. He plays corner but I think he could make the switch.

There are some serious names to watch at safety but IMO we are going to be needing a few CB next season with all these expiring contracts coming up. There are some good ones to watch this next season. It would really be nice to come away with a quality Safety and CB in 2020.
