New Cowboys quarterbacks coach Jon Kitna says one of the hardest things to do in life is to make the jump from "good or even great ... to an elite status." But that is exactly Kitna's plan for Dak Prescott.

It’s a shame that Kitna, while he was playing, apparently never such a mindset.

I'm anxious to see what he can do......especially helping Dak with his footwork and releasing the ball quicker...........Hopefully with Kitna and Moore both being former QB's they can workout the kinks in his weaknesses and gameplan to his strengths rather than just go with the same generic gameplans week in and week out.

It’s a shame that Kitna, while he was playing, apparently never such a mindset.

At the halfway point of the 2003 season, Kitna was in the running for league MVP.
Obviously, he didn't win it, but was named Comeback Player of the Year.

Mindset doesn't match ability. It takes both. Unfortunately, most of us are blessed with
only one. Some people have neither of them.

I think he'll be a very good coach.

It's good to see that Dak has the type of support and the mindset to improve because there's no denying there's room for him to do so. Whether he ever reaches an elite status is certainly something worthy of aiming for, no doubt. In any event, it should prove interesting to see how well he's able to develop his game. Hopefully, the fact that the talent around him has improved will help him rise to a higher level. Exactly how much remains to be seen. He has evidently displayed a fine work ethic that should work in his favor. There's also hope that he'll be given the guidance to improve. We'll see.

Dak Already Has 'Mindset To Be Elite'
First how do they define mindset? lol just exactly what is that.
Elite........well we all know this means different things to different people.
And if he already has it, and hasnt played great, what does that say?

I think maybe the jones boys wrote it out for kitna to say?
It would have been better to just say kitna thinks he can help Dak play
better than he has the last 2 years. Would not sound as fancy but it would be more believable.

Instead they are promoting dak as elite, which sets him up to look bad if he does not play elite this season.

I was thinking maybe kitna will help dak, but dak is a long way from elite.
So why even bring that up? maybe the jones boys want us to think dak is elite now,
so when they sign him to big deal, it is for elite dak, not avg dak lol.
And I am not against dak getting the big deal, after 4 years of dealing with jones boys,
and garrett, he deserves a big contract!
