There is always this talk of new offense JG kept saying he was going to run the ball didn’t happen till he wasn’t OC then they kept drafting TE to be like the Pats never saw that last year Scott was coming out with a new offense he had studied the RPO and was going to use it saw a little here and there but basically Scott’s offense which is basically JG’s offense now the new hot kid is on the block and he has the good stuff funny this kid spent the last few years under Scott and JG. Basically I’ll believe this new offense when I see it.

I do wish we could cuss on here without the dreaded *'s.
In my humble opinion, if it's allowed after 9pm on network television,
it should be allowed in print in this forum.

Oh well, carry on.... lol.

I believe we have underaged kids on the forum we have to look out for!

If this offense takes off and Garrett keeps his job............wow. Wasted all these years with that goofball.
Yeah, so I wonder if he wants kellen to succeed with new offense?
Garrett has been like a lead weight on the cowboys for many years, I hope this is his last year.

Like they can't figure it out... lol.
I get it. Somebody would ruin it for everyone else.
It just that, sometimes, it seems necessary... lol.

No f-bombs, just the network TV cuss words.

Garrett isn’t going anywhere if the offense succeeds. That’s the beauty of his position. Kellen will get offers for HC if the offense is Rams like. We are forever stuck with Garrett.

I'm looking forward to seeing how Moore handles this offense. I do expect to see more motion in the offense and I think that will help Dak and the WR

Well that is why I hope they dont make it past the div round again, in hope that they might not renew JG's contract.

I don't think this is about spread offense, I simply think this is Moore putting more on Dak's plate.

This whole collaborative thing IMO is about allowing Dak to take on board what he's seeing and the input he receives from teammates and giving him license to act on it. That's what Kellen Moore was at Boise State. He had near on complete freedom to diagnosing the defense and put the offense into the play he felt was right. I don't expect Dak to do that as often as Moore did, but if he sees something or a teammate makes a suggestion that makes sense. More so than in the past, Dak will have the tools and license to act on that.

Someone suggested a Cussing Happy Hour each day, an excellent idea.

“Having a spread offense forces the defense to show more of their hand pre-snap. Instead of having a condensed box where things get muddled together, the roles of the defenders will be more clear for Prescott.

Also, Prescott will probably run the ball more from these spread out formations. Then after one drive where it is very pass-heavy, the Cowboys can come out and run the ball.”

OH JEESH. This will be interesting if true. Not sure if I would go this route considering our personnel. That's not how the oline is built. They are a powerful mauling oline...not smaller olineman that pull. Connor Williams may be the only guy that would do well in this scheme. Like the idea , but not sure we have the right players for it.

It's not going to be a spread offense per se.

Moore's statement "A multiple offense" is a better description of what he ran at Boise State.

They used everything from 3 TEs and formations with a Fullback all the way to empty backfield.

It's NOT about the specific personnel groups they (Boise State) used but how they used them.

Spread Offenses normally don't use much of:
2 TEs
1 TE, 1 FB
3 TEs

As Gruden said in the video with Moore, the Boise State offense was unique to Boise State.

As DanA said, collaboration/communication is an area where Moore is likely a big improvement over Linehan.

Just watching interviews of Linehan and Moore, the difference in personalities is obvious. Linehan is very cryptic in the way that he expresses himself. That was most obvious the year they coached the Senior Bowl and they had audio (and video) of Linehan calling plays and coaching QBs in practice.

Not a fan of Prescott running the ball more, I get that he can but it also exposes him to more hits and a greater chance of injury. Everyone thought that RGIII was going to be unstoppable and that lasted what? a season and a half?
We got Mike “Great” White waiting if anything tragic happens

Most NFL teams are adopting parts of the spread offense out of necessity and I am assuming Moore is no different and not that far removed from his playing days.

What many people don't consider, because of the formation, it is not a passing offense. Chip Kelly used it to stretch the D and expand the second level so when his QB or RB ran the ball, it was much more wide open. The NFL DC's don't like it because it puts too much pressure on the individual player and makes team D more difficult. Many DC's have gone to Tuscaloosa to visit with the best mind in the business and even he's struggled with it and he has nothing but 5 stars on defense.

If they really do incorporate parts of the spread into the passing game, and I believe they have the WR corps to do that now, the QB has to get rid of the ball quicker because of the pressure on the OL and with a route runner like Cooper and a WR that can get deep like Gallup, that presents a problem for a pass defense.

But this is the natural evolution of NFL ball and if AZ has any success with a spread HC and very mobile QB, we're going to see a lot more of it.
you lost me at Chip Kelley..lmao cant do what he did we will have a wore out defense by game 8..

theres limit to how much spread and how fast you run an offense, you still have to protect the defense a little and with Zeke we need to approach this more like the Rams, they run a lot more then you think but more creatively and can be wide open..Chips BS cant work in the nfl as fire drill offenses will kill the defense..

I think you have to get creative with Dak. Have to try something different.

The article mentioned Kitnas experience in high school coaching was an asset.

Looks like we might be seeing more of an Amateur style spread offense which might suit our QB’s strengths.
It’s not such an amateur style when teams are successfully winning with the spread offense tho. Right? SMH. You guys really crack me up with this bs.

You mean we're not running into 8/9 men boxes on 1st/2nd to only throw a screen on 3rd?
No.

Linehan made Moore promise to keep it in the offense and to run it at the beginning of each half.

Fear not.

Not that much is changing.

Frankly..I am not sure any of us are going to see much of a change.

Zeke still gets the ball 400 times and the defense has to improve for us to equal 10-6 again.

With a 1st place schedule in 2019..

things are different now.

You just can't t change all that much or you lose continuity.

With all the speed and talent we have on offense I doubt it’ll be an amateur style. If so then the coaching changes are a waste.
Kitna coaching experience is coming from the High School ranks and Moore influence from his father coaching and most recent history playing is from College. It doesn’t appear unreasonable that it could have more of an Amateur flair. I actually feel it might fit Daks skill set. Certainly worth a shot.
