Dak has a lot of weapons this year. So for this year he is in a better situation. But after this year, who knows.

The Cowboys have 37 contracts ending after this up coming season. So one way or another we are looking at a lot of turnover after this year. ( maybe even a new head coach) And a lot of big contracts coming up in the next three years.

To me, it's as if the Cowboys dont make it to the NFC championship game, the FO will only keep a couple of core players then blow this team up.

I am not sure Dak is clearly in the better position. Both should have good OLs, both have a decent grouping of WRs, Cowboys have edge at TB and Eagles have edge at TE.

It’s pretty close.

37 is really not a concern. By the time the season starts, that will be cut way now, as players get released. And as some can be replaced easily. And many will get resigned.

Going into last off-season, there were well over 20, and as some weren't signed. After TC and the start of the season there were 18 FA's after the 2018 season.
They resigned 9, 3 left to other teams, there are 5 unsigned by any team. Well, now 4, as rod Smith signed with the Giants. And Irving retired, but was not going to be resigned anyway.

So by the time the season starts, I expect it will be about the same 18 to 20 FA's. So come 2020 season, expect about the same, but maybe they will not sign as many of their own this time around if the drafted guys step up and show they can replace the FA player.

Also Bill Parcels said, teams have about a 20% to 30% turnover every year. Even good teams will have a 15% turnover.

I used to think I wanted to work for one of the sports networks but with 24 hours to fill they spend a lot of time going on about nothing - fake debates and speculation about a season that is 4 months away.

Right. I flip over to the shows at times, and most o the time, I move on to something else, or back to what I was watching, or reading.

I don't need to see another slanted top 10 sideline nose pickers or top 10 best bottle water spills through a face mask.

I think we have a lot more depth than they do across the board. That's going to really help us, throughout the season, if injuries occur.

Where do we have a big depth advantage?

OL depth is pretty similar (we may have a little bit more depth) now that the Eagles brought back Wisnewski as a backup and drafted Dillard in the first round at OT. WR depth seems similar, maybe we have a slight edge if you buy into a guy like Tavon Austin, who I won't be fooled again into thinking will be a factor. TE depth? They have Ertz and Goeddert so they have decent depth at TE as do we (granted they probably have more talent).

TB? We have the best TB but both teams are going to be likely relying on rookies (Sanders - 2nd round for them, Weber - late round for us) to provide depth.

I guess I just don't see how we are so much better off depth wise than them? Both teams seem to have decent depth now on offense.

I totally agree with you. But having that many contracts ending all at once puts a lot of pressure on the FO to hit on all of their draft picks next year. So if they're not careful things could get ugly pretty quick.

It’s awful this time of year.

I’ll watch anything but.

DAL and PHI have pretty comparable teams across the board. And WAS isn’t that far behind if they close the QB gap.

Going to be interesting to see what they do with Haskins. They really lucked out not panicking and trying to move up to get him and then have him fall in their laps. They say he's been really impressive in rookie camp, but that's camp.

I love their DL too. But they have issues elsewhere for sure. People are quick to write this off as a two team race in the division but if Haskins pulls a Dak and has a good year, they can stay healthy along the OL (and they have a decent OL) and get something from the kid who tore his knee up last year as a rookie at TB............. they might actually be a decent team.
