He hardly sucked.

He was one of our top secondary guys every year for the better part of a decade..
Really? I don't remember him playing that much since he was always injured. The times he did play, his covered receiver was many times making catches on him even though he would have tight coverage but would fail to turn his head around and look for the ball as it was arriving.

More Agents sales talk.

At this stage the sales pitch to sign Dak is like one of those dodgy door to door sales people who say that if you dont sign up now, you'll lose the bargain of a lifetime. Think about it:

1. Dak needs to be signed now.
2. This is a bargain - the price will rise if we dont buy now.
3. Potential to change your life.
4. You cant buy similar elsewhere.
5. Nobody else wants to sell you a franchise QB.
6. Dak is the best available you.
7. You'll be no good without Dak.

Etc. Etc.etc.

I usually run a mile from this type of sales pitch.......and rightly so.

We will find out shortly if Jones know what they are doing. If they give Dak $30 million year they don't know what they are doing. If they get something in $25 million (which I still think is over-pay) it shows Jerry can still negotiate. Either way Dak needs to take major steps forward and carry this team at times with that pay scale.

Also, If Dallas does end up giving Dak $30 million year when they still had another year of his services at low cost then its confirmation on why they couldn't win anything for past 25 years...incompetence.

Given that the main people in our coaching squad are out of contract at the end of 2019, the prudent thing to do is NOT sign Dak until the long term coaching situation is sorted. An incoming HC will want his own choice of QB. Dak is under contract - no need to do anything until Q1 2020.

From ESPN, these are not the comments of a guy who is playing hardball in negotiations:

"I mean, I want to be a Cowboy forever," Prescott said Wednesday night at Dr Pepper Ballpark, where he and his teammates were raising money for the Salvation Army through the Reliant Home Run Derby. "I think the people that are doing the deal feel the same way, so to me, it's no rush. I know it will get done."

"It's all generational money, life-changing money, so it's just a blessing to be able to be in this position," Prescott said. "But as far as the numbers are concerned, my focus is on the locker room, and that will all take care of itself."

SA supports Dak getting the $$$, that say's it all, SA hates the DC wonder why he wants Dak to get paid. As for Dak wanting to be a Cowboy for life, anyone who works would want to stay at their work place if they got paid CEO money for working in the mail room. After he gets the $$$$ (28-30M) hope they can fix all those problems the Dak worshipers say are no problem to fix even though in 3 seasons he hasn't.

well good take 22 mil earn your new elite status and they can tear that up in 3yrs and get you your payday..talk is cheap asking for 30 is not showing you want to be here forever..SEE Tom Brady, hes aging and was going to be replaced , decided to make it tough only taking 19mil and no demands or ego.. SBs galore..dont want to hear what his wife makes thats NOT the point, 19mil single or married sets you up FOR LIFE... the contract would be done if he asked for 25mil instead of 30..CBFL well take less...uts not like you will be in the porr house Dak, we have less tax in TX, cheaper real estate and the DC str affords you more side money..so w t f is the hold up MR Cowboy? that goes for Zeke and Amari, well I dont expect Amari to do it hes not drfted Cowboy but really its not dalk hating iwant to keep all our homegrown stars and have team to put around them.. tired of hearing BS.. if you cant live on 25 and bet on yourself 3yrs from now same as RW did, you really are about money not about the STAR..:starspin:

We need stuff to talk about this time of year!

Evidently. Dak is doing what he should which is focusing in on his job and letting his agent do the job he is hired to do. I have no doubt he wants to be a Cowboy for life after all he has been a Cowboys fan through out his life. As far as the final numbers on his contract that people are upset about all I can say is no contract has been signed as of yet just rumors of numbers. Wait and see how much it is and the details of the contract.

:lmao2:What will even be more fun to watch is if Dallas does want to make the deal to have Dak for life. What if they come up with a 10 year deal at $30 million a year with $85 million in guarantees and then roster bonus after year 4 depending on him making the roster. Could you see this board light up like the biggest Christmas tree ever, OMG the moderators would die trying to keep up with all the Dak threads. Would probably have to make a Dak forum.:lmao2:

Dak has already carried this team and done very well leading it multiple times. His leadership should never be in question,
