Who Brice?
Unfortunately, yes.

When is this team going to spend some $ on the bullpen? Tired of losing games late to our pitching.

Saturday night's game the offensive came back to get a significant lead, only for Morgan to give up a three-run homer to pinch-hitter Suzuki and a solo shot to Robles as the Nats took the final lead.

The Brody Van Woebegone Mets just are not cutting it. As soon as the Pitching starts coming through, the hitters go on vacation. Dang Gio Gonzalez has two starts against the Mets and looks like Sandy Koufax. I am sure he will resort to looking like the ordinary pitcher he is when he faces someone else. The Mets have four guys that should be playing every day. Alonso, Conforto, McNeil and Cano. The rest need to be cut or sent to the minors. Rossario cant play two games in a row without an error, Nimmo can't hit anymore, Lagares was horrible four yeas ago and has not gotten better, Ramos is done, and Todd Frazier is old with his best years behind him. I dont see how they will even match last years record. Oh but Jed Lowrie is about ready to make his return. Lordy, Lordy, Lordy, Brody and and his Band of Brothers err former Clients.

I was just joking because his.name was spelled wrong in the meme haha.

Our bullpen hasn't been as bad as most people think. Most.nights they have done a great job..even early in the season while they've been overworked with starters not going deep in games and the 17 games in 17 nights scheduling bs.

They had a rough game last night..but those were even the first runs Morgan has let up all season. They'll be ok. Offense needs to be more consistent.

I wasn't sure being you asked "who" instead of whose lol. Yes, I noticed the spelling after the fact. My time ran out to "edit" hoping no one would notice. Then I was like, oh look, Roy spelled it the same way lol.
:thumbup:That's true on Morgan etc....good point/post.

It’s par for the course.....get off to a decent start then falter. The Mets desperately need a CF, SS and a catcher. The offense is pathetic and the pitching isn’t much better after Thor. I am surprised that they aren’t well below .500 at this point since it is a poorly constructed team. Guys like Frasier and Cano could be good supplemental players but not reliant upon.

A new season had me energized with reservations and now reality has set in.......as expected

Look who's in the house tonight @RoyTheHammer .
Even Willis gets booed by Philly Phans.
With a one hopper, he may not realize that he's not lefthanded after all. :lmao:

I read an article today that stated the Marlins will go down in history as one of the worst teams ever. They then proceeded to whip up on the Mets and DeGrom tonight, can’t make this stuff up for us miserable Mets fans :lmao2:

And in the same season we are potentially seeing one of the greatest teams of all-time in the Astros.

The Astros are only the 3rd team in MLB history to have two, 10-game winning streaks prior to June 1st.

Here are some stats over the past 10 games:

As a team, they're hitting .311/.376/.587 with 24 home runs in this ten-game winning streak. As a team, the pitching staff has thrown 90IP, 54H/21R (20ER), 114K:32BB, a 2.00 ERA / 0.96 WHIP.

As great as the hitting has been the pitching has been superb.

I’ve already been to a few of their games here, tearing it up for sure. Springer is bound to cool off as will the offense. I am not so sure the pitching will continue as is over the dog days of Summer but we shall see.

Brantley. He was the missing piece.

And the Stros hitters are Fiiiiiinally working pitchers and going the other way. You're just not going to be able to maintain consistency trying to pull guys throwing close to a buck and swinging at everything.

Welp, swept by the lowly Marlins. I am officially at that point where I want the Mets to completely blow and it isn’t even the end of May :banghead:

I would say that wholesale changes would be coming but I would be lying..........

I am already scouring the FA’s next season who is 10 years past their prime and would be cheap! :lmao:

OK, if you were GM of the Mets what would you do (that would be realistic)?

Clean house from manager on down. I would keep McNeil, DeGrom and maybe Smith. Trade Thor for some young talent and anyone else left that might bring in better players is free game. I might even be open to unloading DeGrom if it could bring in a haul.

This team needs a catcher, SS and CFer badly and needs to move the dinosaurs out. Calloway just isn’t cutting it. He was brought here mainly for the pitching expertise and he has failed in that regard. You can only ride DeGrom for so long........

The bullpen needs an overhaul too, we have one or two guys capable.

The offense just stinks for the past several years, the position players are just not very good and beyond inconsistent.

There needs to be a whole new mindset and direction but that will not happen under the Wilpons who happen to hire incompetent GM’s.

I admit I haven't been keeping up with the Mets when it comes to stats...

I wasn't surprised to see that they are below the league average in many offensive categories... They use to be able to hit homeruns but don't do that at a high clip anymore.

Nor was I surprised their defense is below average... In actuality it's awful.

What did surprise me was their pitching stats are even worse than their hitting stats.

They shouldn't have been swept by the Marlins, but the fact is they aren't all that much better than the Marlins.

They have the starting pitchers that are good enough to get into the postseason but the problem is that it is hard to pitch when you know that there is a putrid offense and defense behind you. It makes you press, mechanics falter. The mind messes with ya knowing that if I give up a couple of runs.......the game is pretty much over already. That leads to more mental mistakes.

It doesn’t matter if Thor, Matz, Wheeler and DeGrom all have era’s under 3.00, the standings would not be much different......maybe .500 at best.

Even when the starter leaves in a tied or winning game, the bullpen either blows it or makes it very interesting at least.

The sad likely-fact is when they do become competitive most of that starting pitching will be gone via FA.

Right now the Mets are 9th in payroll... They certainly aren't getting good value.

The game plan by brodie was horrible. It is a young players sport and the Lowry, Frazier's, Canos if the world ont cut it. Of course they are all former bridie clients. I hope they fire him before they fire calloway. Stupid plan results in a horrible team.its embarrassing. Bring back sandy Alderson.
