Who Is To Blame For The Star Wars Fiasco?

The original films that had George Lucas were awesome but these new films produced by Disney and kept Lucas out of the loop are horrible. "A Force Awakens" I blame JJ Abrahams and Disney top brass like Bob Iger for the crappy casting and "The Last Jedi" for Direction and Writing was Rian Johnson.Which has to be the most awful film in the whole series to me. ....Hollywood has been putting out garbage of late and not going to get my money for "Star Wars-The Rise of Skywalker"......After "The Last Jedi" and all the garbage of political correctness and the horrible acting.I now turn to the Darkside and joined againist this crap....There is a BOYCOTT for EPISODE 9 Movement .On Star Wars Only they did a poll and the question was "Are You Going to Boycott Episode 9"? 41% say yes they would..That is over a 3rd of fans who refuse to pay for this garbage.

It seems Hollywood has been pushing female heroes more then men probably going on 15 years now....Charlie's Angels made money because guys wanted to see how sexy the women would be,but when they saw it was just a "Girl Power" fantasy then the Charlie's Angels sequel BOMBED because everyone knew what to expect.....Plenty of movies they have been pushing. "Ghost in the Shell","Underworld" "Mad Max -Fury Road"etc....Not men to be the heroes. Basically where is the New Arnold Swartzenegger? Sly Stallone? Bruce Willis? They are not there and if you have seen "The Last Jedi"it is so obvious this stuff is being pushed on everyone.This is Princess Leia's,Rey,Laura Dern's moment,not the guys.....I just wish they would let Men be Men and Women can be beautiful and sexy still and can also be heroes,but not this veiled Hate Men Crap being pushed down my throat......

Hollywood also has been hating on families for probably the last 30 years.No more TV sitcoms like "The Brady Bunch" when they made the Brady Bunch movie, they made the family into a total joke....

Talks of a female James Bond? PLEASE!!!!

For me, Hollyweird is not getting my money anymore they have lost touch with their core audience

Fathers are under attack by Hollyweird. Every sitcom they have the Father who is some dumb oaf who is fat and cannot connect with his familty. He is the butt of all the jokes for the show... The wife will be beautiful but stuck in this marriage and her life would be so much better without the husband.The kids are totally disrespectful of the Father and yet the Mother they won't be.....Can you tell me any family friendly TV show in the last 20 years. The Father is the hero and not the joke???

You see the same crap in commercials .Father is a fool and the Wife is perfect.

The Last Jedi was just a bunch of garbled mess. Finn why is it so important he come out of his coma? Princess Leia's Mary Poppins moment. Adam Driver's shirtless scene(Put the shirt back on and also put the mask back on.I am trying to digest my popcorn).Rey and Finn's chemistry is lacking. A forced love of Finn and Rose Tico which seems so stupid. Rose kisses Finn and passes out. The New Order General is made a punching bag and gag of jokes after being human with no link to the force and yet very menacing in "A Force Awakens".now he is a clown.

I think the OT is vastly overrated, and would be awful, just like the PT, if not for others taking on heavy roles in lieu of Lucas. Outside of Ford, the acting was pretty bad and not as well done as the Disney films.

I think TFA was fine, and Rogue One was pretty good (my favorite of all 10 films). TLJ was absolutely a mess (but still probably netter than the PT) and Solo was very bland and had a terrible robot to compete with Jar Jar for worst SW character.

There have been acting problems in every Star Wars related movie, starting with Mark Hamill. The dialog is usually pretty bad, though the stories themselves are pretty good. A lot of the creatures are just stupid looking, and probably wouldn't have survived long enough to evolve into an intelligent species. If not for the cool ships, weapons, and special effects, the whole franchise would be relegated to B movie status.

I'll watch the final movie in the trilogy but then I'm done. On top of what you mentioned people wanted to see these films because they loved Luke, Han and Leia and they never even got a reunion of them. I don't think much of the new set of characters. Can't even tell you who plays who with the exception of Adam Driver who is no Darth Vader.

Some franchises are just not to be messed with, recreated or renewed and Star Wars was the pinnacle example. They should have left it alone and maybe tried to start a new sci-fi trilogy but, I know, creative ideas are hard to come by these days.........

I liked TFA. I thought TLJ was only slightly better than PM. I did like R1. Solo was alright, but could've been much better. Mark Hamill is really bad. I always thought he took a dynamic character and rendered him nondescript. Even R2D2 was played better than Luke.

For me, Hollyweird is not getting my money anymore they have lost touch with their core audience

hollywood follows trends. as do advertisers and the like.

when the chic in the last star wars did the "he's cute, i want one" i was over it. it's quite possible to make strong female roles w/o reducing the strength of other roles. when you have to create a WOMAN POWER environment it's very "fake". endgame has 1 girlpower moment and it was annoying and we moved on. but look at movies like overboard - flip the genders and do it again. oceans 8, all female. many more in the works. and now they doubled down with a lesbian catwoman. or batgirl. i've lost interest to be honest.

i've written a complete trilogy for Logans Run, albiet 95% of it still in my head but it rocks! how the domes were built, why, end results of their own, and it all ties in for 1 complete story. but when i look around people say there are "talks" of redoing logans run but with a female lead. after awhile it becomes forced and we've long since past hit that time. if it makes sense to do a female role, black, gay, jewish, whatever - do it. but dont force it on a role just because you want to show people you're "woke".

but i grew up with star wars 1-9 being told via 4-6, 1-3, 7-9 and we'd get the entire story. divorces and life messed that up and disney swooped in and bought it and pretty much said 7 is now 4 but with minorities, 8 will go nowhere but bag on men and have princess lea do mary poppins in space and 9, i don't even care. i've not seen a trailer yet (except at endgame but i did stuff on my phone instead) and i hate disney for taking away an ending what, 40+ years in the making?

they bought it, their right to do what they want. but since they have no real interest in finishing the story, i have no interest in seeing what they do.

i wonder why super hero movies and remakes are so popular but then i look around at other new movies and there just isn't a lot of depth out there. not even shallow mindless entertainment. we're lost somewhere between "woke" story lines and pop culture pooping on us that helps drive the loss of the movie theater in general as people get it at home through various indie means now.

any movies forcing the female role into things i just don't watch. waiting for a huge butch lesbian to redo walking tall next and then i'll tap out of hollywood forever.

This, I will not pay to see another one of them as long as she is in charge. The last Jedi made a mockery of the entire Star Wars franchise. I see no need to reward something like that with my money. Disney should take someone from the Marvel team and let them run Star Wars.
