The show runners said they kept the perspective on the ground so we were seeing what those who were affected by Dany's decision/actions had to go through.

And that may very well be the sum of it. Though, that’s a bit too tidy for me. They want us to follow the narrative that Dany has lost her shh. I’m only accounting for the possibility of misdirection.

It goes back to the former Three-Eyed Raven telling Bran. “You’ll never walk again, but you will fly.

Now that could mean him warging into ravens as he’s done repeatedly. Or this.

I realize this is a stretch, but the avoidance of face time as she is lighting up the common folk is sort of a head-scratcher is what’s driving this for me.
It's a novel idea, but he can only warg into simple minded creatures. Even Hodor was a challenge. We saw the malice on her face, and saw her eyes, just as she was deciding to do it. Also, I don't see why Bran would do it.

Anything is possible I suppose. I imagine she had her usual icy expression (ironic since she is so tied to fire) and she'll have some reasoning and logic that make sense to her.

I think @Nightman and I are the only ones thinking that no one will sit on the throne. After all that has happened, all the struggles for power, all the issues with the single monarch, there will be no single king/queen. Jon may be the heir, but he doesn't want it and don't know if they could decide on a single person to sit upon the throne so it will be ruled as group, a council. I have been advocating calling it the "Iron Council" for quite awhile, melt down the Iron Throne and build a large table from it where all the delegates from each kingdom can sit and make decisions as equals. I could see a scenario that Jon would agree to act as a Chairman to oversee and help arbitrate disagreements, but think that Tyrion would be suited to this role. Each kingdom has it's own king/queen and rule their own kingdom with the "Iron Council" working as group to work out trade agreements, settle disputes, organize the kingdoms in a time of crisis, etc.

Having read the books a few times, I've thought about this possibility a lot. With the destruction of King's Landing, it's a real possibility in the show. There are not many people left that would even want the throne. For that to happen, Daenerys definitely has to die. Those nobles left would have to decide that nobody should take the throne. Sansa would want her cousin Jon on the throne. Tyrion would want Jon on the throne. The new lord of Storm's End Gendry would probably want Jon on the throne. The Onion Knight (er, Lord?) definitely would want Jon on the throne. Nearly the entire North would want him on the throne. Even if he doesn't want it, he might feel forced into it due to responsibility ingrained into him by Eddard. He accepted King of the North eventually after all.

However, if both Daenerys and Jon were to die (or Jon secretly runs away to live happily among the wildlings), that leaves it open for a council as there are no really strong contenders that would A) want it, and B) have the power necessary to grab it.

I was thinking that, after seeing the chaos and destruction firsthand, while trying to arrive at a peaceful end, Jon may change his mind and decide it's his responsibility to provide the people with a just ruler.
