Considering how devoted the Unsullied and Dothraki were to Dany, it was a stretch to think they wouldn't have executed Jon immediately. They were all ready to put spears through him when he took a step towards Grey Worm after he questioned her orders, but would have shown restraint after killing their Queen in cold blood?

Interesting take because I didn't really think of it in that context.

I thought he was more pissed off that the Iron Throne is what ultimately resulted in Daenerys' death. Her lust for power was her downfall, and the Iron Throne was the symbol of her aspirations of power.

Either way, I thought it was a great scene.

This season sucked; unfortunately it's the final season and the ending can make or break a story.

Two driving factors contributed to this as far as I can tell.
A) The producers have upcoming projects and decided the series needed to end as soon as possible, so they compromised the writing to get to the results they wanted instead of logically maneuvering the characters over time.
B) There had been so many spoilers leaked over the years that they were more worried about subverting expectations and keeping people guessing rather than being predictable and holding true to the rest of the series.

Little tired of story lines where the main protagonist is perpetually taking one for the team. Jon goes back to the wall because...why?

As King, Bran has to agree to Grey Worm's terms? Immediately after Grey Worm concedes that the new King/Queen should decide Jon's fate, he has enough pull to demand Jon be punished in some fashion?

What the hell's the point in Grey Worm deferring the outcome to the new King/Queen if Grey Worm can make such demands?

I'm sure it's all chalked up to Bran knowing and seeing everything, but what a cop out.

How screwed over was Bronn's character?

Probably one of the main supporting characters in the series, and he's given like 2 or 3 minor appearances in the final season?

What the hell was he doing the whole time? He just magically shows up to threaten/blackmail Tyrion and Jaime, and then after all the fighting is over (none of which this great fighter partook in), he's given a seat on the Small Council? With all the pointless deaths in this season, seeing him die after aligning with Cersei would have actually been a worthwhile outcome.

Actually, I think Jon was quite happy with the outcome. He was probably tired of the two-faced people in Westeros and rather than stay at the wall as was his punishment, he said "Screw this" and went with the Wildlings, who you know where you stand with at all times and got Ghost back. So he avoided death, avoiding being saddled with ruling, and got to live among people who weren't a bunch of power-hungry back stabbers.. People who thought very highly of him.

One would think a dragon flying off carrying a body that had the only platinum blonde hair in the area would be a subtle clue. There's no way that wasn't noticed. Plus, Jon's honorable (dumb) enough to admit it immediately. The pool of blood where her body was might be a hint too, since the blood is fresh and John doesn't have a shaving cut.

Did someone spend all night looking for something like that just so they could tweet about it? While I agree it is extremely sloppy of them to allow something like that to make it in a final cut, I have much better things to do with my life than watch a show zooming in just to point out such mistakes.

One of my favorite characters in the whole series. You're right, we hardly saw him at all the whole last season.

I don't wanna hear ANY complaining/whining by all of you about how season 8 ended because you are all Dallas Cowboy fans sand Garrett has been our HC for 8 years....... So

You should already know that every season ends in disappointment and season 8 already ended in disappointment for us in January

And realize that Garrett is still our HC so season 9 will also be disappointing in the end so BD thankful the GOT does not have a season 9

Carrying the analogy forward, if Dak had taken out Garrett for the good of the team Payton could ride in and become King and save the 6 kingdoms

I think he does more that just live among the wildlings. Watching Jon standing on the balcony looking over the group of wildlings, the way Tormund greeted him, and his walk out of the tunnel all hinted that he's basically the new King Beyond the Wall.

Think back to the first season.

1. Bran was always climbing to the top of things. To the point they had Cat telling him to quit climbing because it was not safe. Later he climbed to the tower and Jamie pushed him off. However at the very end Bran climbed to the top of the world by becoming the king. Something you knew, as the three eyed raven, he knew was going to happen.

2. In the first season. Jon Snow wanted to go to the wall. He was not forced to go and some even tried to talk him out of it but he WANTED to go there. Later he and Ygritte said something along the lines of just staying in the north (specifically the hot water springs). The king beyond the wall liked Jon and you could tell Jon like him. Later he and danny had the avatar dragon flight together and one of them said something along the lines of staying there for a thousand years. So when Jon went back and Tormund was there waiting...you just had to know they were going to go north to be free of it all and live the life he would want to live and become king beyond the wall.

3. Sansa from day one made it clear she wanted to be a princess and eventually a Queen. She finally got her wish. She is now Queen of the north.

4. Arya was never going to be a lady of noble house. She wanted to live a life of adventure. Actually of all the stories going forward hers might be the most interesting.

I agree, there's a lot of potential in Arya's adventures. There's also potential in Jon's expedition in the North, but probably not until after Winter's over.

What I don't get is that, if Bran knew he was going to be King, why did he tell Tyrion in Winterfell that he's stuck in the past, or something like that?
