Society sunk into the toilet when it legalized beer and alcohol. The number one date rape substance on the face of the planet. I dont smoke or drink but still hate alcohol more than cannabis.

People dont care and stuck in their misguided thoughts " most are sheep" the fact that Tobacco and alcohol kill more people then illicit drugs and prescription combined is always ignored. Then people forget the prohibition era and how booze was the problem .... all while selling heroin in kids OTC cough medicine

Marijuana is a perception problem for the NFL , not a legal problem.

The network and their sponsors are concerned about investing billions into a league of pot smokers.

You can’t make it legal in the nfl when most of the teams reside in states where it’s illegal.
Yep

The league could place their Anti Trust exemptions at stake going against Federal Law.

Medicinal purposes is an outside possibility but full blown acceptance isn’t until the laws of the land change.

Id say majority acceptance, as you can't really change peoples beliefs or force them too

Good to see our resident gun-maniac wandering around the yard again.
Hope you've been well!

P.S.: I mean the gun-maniac thing in good fun.
Although your avi gives off that impression...

The majority can legislate which forces them to abide by the law.

But remember other substances are forbidden by the league which aren’t illegal like performance enhancement.

yes and no, some of the things on the PED list are ok if medically necessary like Ritalin / Adderall

I’d venture to say that most suspended players from banned substance wouldn’t fall under the “ medically necessary “ exception.

NBA's doing fine not enforcing anything to do with MJ.
I don't see any Federal investigations on the horizon...

Welcome to the 21st century nfl. Heads where the sun doesn't shine are misplaced. Let's welcome randy Gregory home.

While the NBA has a more narrow range of when players can be tested, and the punishments are less severe than the NFL, they still have these policies and the substance is still banned.

The NFL suspended six players during the 2017/2018 NFL season, while the NBA suspended two players for marijuana related violations of the substance abuse policy.
