Where in the Castle was Arya, when she decided to go after the Night King? I have to believe Bran specifically chose that location so that the White Walkers and dead would be facing away from her location.

BTW, that's an ugly castle....and the big holes in the tops of the towers don't seem to make any sense for a place that gets a lot of snow.

In the books, I think it mentions that Winterfell is situated on a hotspot with piping in the walls to utilize that. Maybe the holes were either there for Summer times or to cool things down should it get too hot even in the winter. Maybe I'm remembering it wrong.

I was actually wondering if the holes were there to catch the snow and melt it for water.

So which of the 2 models shown in the last 2 pages is right? This one looks much different than the previous one, with the most glaring difference being the location of the crypts.

That petition is up to 1.4M sigs and I am assuming (hoping) most of those are in jest just to drive the number up to expose the shear lunacy of that. And now they've got some of the actors coming to the defense of the writers.

I look at this as something very simple because this has been about surprises all along the way and did anyone expect those that survived to be the last ones standing? I assumed Bronn (if he showed up),Grey Worm, Jon, Tyrion for sure were goners. I was just happy the one constant throughout this entire production, Davos, survived. I kind of latched onto him from the beginning because he was one of the few actors I recognized.

It's not the way I would have ended this based on how it's been produced so far and like children on Christmas morning disappointed in their present when they opened it, and I do feel I got some socks from Aunt Martha with some of this, it was still Christmas with the anticipation I had for this season. I looked forward to every episode and honestly, had I not seen the discussions here and elsewhere, would have been quite pleased as I was along for the ride wherever it took me and am not usually overly critical of entertainment, I either like it or I don't and I liked this. I do not feel as some do that my time was wasted.

I would have done a few things differently too, but overall, I'm not complaining much......It ain't Lost, so I'm pretty happy about that.

I never watched it, do not watch a lot of network TV, but had friends that were really pissed about the ending.

I think a lot of these writers sell the pilot and haven't worked it all out down the road because they don't know if it's going to stick so why waste the time?

I do think that the producers of GoT should have produced a few alternate endings if not for the show, the DVD sales. For years, the industry has been teasing us with the alternate endings option on DVD's and I haven't seen that materialize and this would have been a good one for that.

The real breakdown for me is that these people can't get along with their own families and they're going to give up that easily and just let Tyrion, after that lame speech and no one had the story to match Jon Snow's, have them appoint Bran as King and Grey Worm is going to give up two of his prize kills and he's OK with Sansa being Queen of her own hood? You know he knew Dany saw her as the enemy. However, there is one scene when Grey Worm looks at Dany when she's down from her orgasmic dragon ride and I could see he knew she'd crossed over to where there is no return so he might have been accepting that what was done had to be done to save them all. He realized that Dany thought the best way to save people was to torch them. Well, they weren't in chains any longer so there is that.

I am going to watch the 8th season in it's entirety in a couple of weeks with a different frame of mind like I re-watch a lot of DVD's that I already know the outcome of. I already know what I don't like, I am going to watch for what I did like and try to like that more and discount the warts I know are there.

They're both screen grabs from the show, the first was a screen grab with an aerial view. The second is a screen grab from the opening credits. I found this screen grab of the battle plans(someone labeled most characters positions) and shows the crypt entrance closer to where the opening credits. This one is probably most accurate since it has the markers on the battle map.

As for Grey Worm, I think duty to the ruler is his number one priority, and since Bran was the new king, accepting Winterfell's independence was his duty. I am still surprised he didn't kill Tyrion or Jon, but making unilateral decisions wasn't really his thing. He ordered the Unsullied, and that was it, so maybe he felt it wasn't up to him.

I like that map best. I wonder if there's any way to know where Arya, Melisandre, and The Hound were trapped, before Arya ran off to kill the Night King. I don't see anything marked "Library". lol

After thinking about this a few days, the ending would have made more sense as it was done had they done one simple thing. As Jon led the free folk north of the wall, they should have done it at dusk. He then could have unsheathed Longclaw and raised the flaming sword of Azor Ahai above his head to light the way. At least that would have wrapped up the Azor Ahai plot hole.

It's not a plothole. People just read the prophecy wrong, or the show misspoke it. Here it is from the books:

There will come a day after a long summer when the stars bleed and the cold breath of darkness falls heavy on the world. In this dread hour a warrior shall draw from the fire a burning sword. And that sword shall be Lightbringer, the Red Sword of Heroes, and he who clasps it shall be Azor Ahai come again, and the darkness shall flee before him.[3]

The bolded is what is you should pay attention to. When Jon Snow was the Steward under Lord Mormont. When the walker broke free and went to Mormont to kill him, the fight caused a fire and Longclaw was caught in the fire. It was burning. Jon drew the burning sword from the flame. It never said the sword would stay on fire. The sword was Valyrian steel, which was said to be originally forged using Dragon's breath.

If you want to get more metaphorical, someone else has a theory:
