Yeah, what we needed was another 5 minutes of Zeke walking and stumbling in a circle eating a hot dog for more "context".
Why are you assuming that Zeke went from eating a hot dog to just getting in a guy's face without something happening in the middle?

Yes, there needs to be more context.

Some never grow up. Idiots and police are out and about at 2 am and then tend to meet up at some point. I don't expect players to live like monks on the other hand I don't expect them to get into altercation that can cost them and their team.
Agreed. Players should be able to have a good time responsibly. What I don’t understand about celebrity athletes like this is this-
  • If they want to go out and party in public, they should know because of the training they get from the NFL in rookie induction that they are going to be noticed- fair or not- and that they should take precautions because some people will try to provoke them.
  • There are multiple fun ways to party without putting yourself out there for public scrutiny. Tons of NFL, NBA players and other celebrities go to clubs where they have VIP sections, or they go to a private party in private places where they are not subject to problems like this one with Zeke.
  • You don’t have to be a “choir boy” with no fun to be a responsible NFL athlete. But you can’t act like a spoiled HS kid with reckless, immature behavior- especially in a public place. You are just asking for trouble.
I hope Cowboys fans will spare us the unnecessary excuses about “NFL players don’t have to be choir boys”....I get it. But I also don’t think it’s too much to ask any responsible 23 year old to be a man and stop acting like a foolish kid. If you want be treated like a grown man, act like it. NFL player or not.

There’s a difference between having fun as an irresponsible kid, and having fun as a responsible adult. There are plenty of adults in age these days who act like kids in public as evidenced by their obnoxious public behavior at ballparks, concerts, movie theaters, restaurants, etc. If an adult wants to have a party night of getting drunk, high and/or obnoxious, keep it in a less public setting for safety and courtesy reasons.

I agree, These guys walk into clubs or events and have a target on their back. You get into a fight well the guy you got into a fight with nothing really is going to happen. A fine maybe a few days in county then back to their life. NFL players you could be talking suspension and a loss of big money not to mention letting your teammates down especially when you are such a vital part of the team. Guy in their position need to be very cautious of their surroundings and if things are starting to get out of control LEAVE do not engage, you have too much on the line to risk over something stupid

A problem with what, being 23 and having fun?

He didn't do anything here, we're only talking about it because it's Zeke.

He didn't do anything to get suspended over, but I was twenty-three once and I liked to have fun, but I never pushed a security guard or pulled up a girl's shirt when I was drunk. And I wasn't even an NFL player.

I understand that but they are told this from day 1 at the rookie orientation. If you plan on partying then hire a security person who is there to oversee what is going on. I know it sounds extreme but now days with camera phones and TMZ players must beware.

Plus the fact that JJ probly provides free security and rides for his players.

Zeke is in a different situation because of his past suspension. I hope NFL lets this slide but there are personal conduct terms they sign that leaves the discretion up to the league

That's not assault.

And can we stop acting like because the guy is a security guard means anything. He's just some guy who mouthed off.

Laws on assault are pretty open to interpretation to the victim. If a person feels that someone is intentionally threatening bodily harm to them, that’s enough for An assault charge.

Funny how the Chiefs cut Kareem Hunt within hrs of this happening. We haven't even heard a word from the team about this. Jerry Jones hoping it all goes away...

lets see... yeah, Hunts knocking the hell out of a woman is similar to this video.

It absolutely meets the legal definition of assault.
nothing worse than internet attorneys.

Depending on the jurisdiction, assault is misunderstood by 99% of the public. So unless you could hear exactly what Zeke was saying to that security official, there is no way in hell you can say this was "Assault." KNow the difference between Assault and BATTERY.

Why don't you explain it because it appears to be classic Assault..... a threat of harm followed by an act that doesn't cause much harm

It doesn't matter at all

He shouldn't acting like that in public..... no excuses when he is one punch away from banishment
And there's no doubt Dez was drunk. That was blatantly obvious. I don't blame him for that, he can do what he wants in the offseason, I only blame him for his drunk behavior. Cut your crapp, Zeke. We're all still pulling for you, quit acting like the world owes you something.

I've seen assault charged for less. Pushing a security guard is stupid no matter how you slice it, and most go to jail.

MBennett got charged with a felony for pushing through an older security guard at the SB trying to get to his brother

The charges were later dropped

Don’t know if this action warrants a suspension, but wearing a fanny pack should be an automatic 6 gamer, plus loss of man card. ;)

I have no doubt something was said. You can clearly hear Zeke ask him "You got something to say?" right before pushing him over. But a verbal assault rarely if ever justifies a physical retaliation. You're not going to win that battle if it ever came down to the courts. If Zeke can be provoked by things people say then he's just a walking ATM.
