Josh Jones has requested a trade or release. He is a safety with Green Bay drafted #61 three years ago. He is 6'2" and 220 and 32 inch arm length. Seems to fit the size and length that Richard likes so maybe we could entice the Packers with a trade for him since he is only a backup with what the Packers did in the off season.

You said ‘NO!’ to Earl Thomas, you squandered your chances with Juan Thornhill, you refused to entertain Eric Berry’s advances, and you most certainly wanted nothing to do with the honey badger...

All so you would be prepared for this ultimate prize of free agency?

Face it, Cowboys aren’t touching this guy. They’ve more than reached their safety talent quota, which was never very high.

He is exactly what you'd want at strong safety, but then again so is Donovan Wilson and George Iloka. Josh Jones has more of an upside than our current strong safeties, but I'd rather stick with what we have. Unless the Packers want to trade Josh for George in an even player swap. Because I'm not giving up any high draft picks for this guy.

From what I read, it sounds like he's more of what we've already got. I want to strengthen the safety position, but I'm not sure he's the way to do it. Now, I don't mind adding competition for the right price, but Iloka is probably a better strong safety than him at this point.

I wouldn't trade anything for him. I would kick the tires if he was cut. He is a 2nd round pick that lost his job to an undrafted rookie last year.

What makes you think that a backup is better than any the Cowboys already have and would give up anything to get that player. This happens every year where fans see a player the Cowboys should trade for and none of them happen. That should tell fans something about being wannabe GM's.

The size and length requirements you are mentioning are for CB. This guy is a physical freak but he hasn't shown the instincts. Makes too many mistakes. Someone a lot of teams might pick off waivers but aren't likely to give much up in a trade.

Why would they if its not an significant upgrade?
They had numerous opportunities to upgrade the position and chose to stick to the "jag" route.

Are we following the same team? Because we sure don't see the same results............sometimes you have to see as they are and not what you wish they are.
