So far, I'm not crazy about the suit.

I believe that is from the final episode of the tv series Gotham. I don't think they already have a suit for this movie.

I wasn't a fan of Michael Keaton as Batman. I am a Keaton fan, but I don't think he brought much to the role. Plus I just didn't like Tim Burton's take on the character.

Val Kilmer really didn't do much and that is probably because that movie was terrible. Same with Clooney. Maybe they could have been better, but I doubt it.

Bale was excellent and was in good movies.

Affleck was good. I was hesitant when he was chosen, but he played the dual role of Wayne/Batman well.

I have serious doubts about Pattinson.

I don't even really count the ones between Keaton and Bale. Keaton probably the best anyone could do, under those cartoonish conditions. Hell, even Nicholson wasn't a particularly good Joker. I think about the only one in any of those movies who was really good was DeVito as Penguin.

I actually think he's going to kill it. Good casting.

I'd be far more worried about the directing and script.

being honest...my favorite Batman is from the animated series...Keaton's Batman was dark...and the best big screen adaption until Christian Bale.
The darker they make it the better....Bruce Wayne is the "costume".......The Dark Knight is who he really is.
Id rather they do an adaption where he stays his true self....and hardly ever puts on the Bruce Wayne costume.

don't know what younger actor I would've choosen....I would have prefered an older actor like Josh Brolin or John Hamm from Mad Men.
I think Batman should be "older" anyway....he's always seemed older to me....tough,gritty,prefers to work alone.
I think Brolin would've made an excellent Batman.

He needs to be old enough to have learned a lot about the world, but young enough to have endurance and durability, like an NFL linebacker...so around 27 - 30.

<----- As a Batman fan, I am not thrilled about it. Just doesn't seem like a good fit to me. Like a lot of you have said, time will tell, and I most certainly could be wrong. At this point though it is almost like they threw darts at a dartboard with actors faces pinned to it. "Oh, stuck on Pattinson! Guess he will do!"

I can tell you I am much more excited about Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. He has super huge shoes to fill but I get the feeling he can live up to it. See, now that is how you fill a role.

I was hoping they would use something like The Court of Owls as the storyline....or Arkham Asylum....some of the darkest story-lines come out of Arkham.
Like you Im gonna give it a chance....it just better be a good story......dark...and something where we see Batman's detective skills.

I heard this director is good friends with Christopher Nolan.....if thats true....it gives me hope this could be good.
hopefully he picked Nolan's brain before he made his choice.

My regret was Keaton did not have the opportunity of playing the duel role outside of Burton's twisted gothic version. Keaton ended up being much better in my eyes than I had first feared after finding out he had landed the part.

Bale has been the most fortunate actor in the bunch. He had the best director. He enjoyed the best cinematic environs, although some of the Gotham sets in Batman Begins were almost Burton-like. And he thrived in a totally dramatic presentation, which is best suited for both hero and Wayne.

I had a flashback and remembered reading Adam West wanting to reprise the characters when the original movie was first reportedly being made. That was the worst feeling of dread I ever had leading up to a movie. The 1960's television version was a reflection of the decade's sense of escapism but the show was a complete mockery of Bob Kane's creation.

Campiness, outside of certain characters like Deadpool, who were created as literature comic relief, should not be used with most comic book superheroes. I am forever thankful Christopher Nolan brought the true versions of Batman and Wayne to life. Here is hoping Pattinson is gifted with a similar opportunity as Bale.
