Dak was the best QB in the NFC the second half of last season after he got a true #1. Which includes the likes of Brees, Wilson, Rodgers and Ryan....all of which have top #1 WRs in the NFL. Everyone needs talent

Great article talking about the QB trap that the Vikings fell into last off season. Sounds a heck of a lot like the situation we are headed towards with Dak.

The Vikings flew straight into the pitcher plant with Cousins by paying a premium for a journeyman whose only hope for an MVP season comes from being surrounded by a superteam.

Just because the market says $30 million for your QB who is hitting Free agency at the right time doesn't mean he is Brees, Wilson, Rodgers, Luck.
Dak is an average starter. You can win with him, he won't kill you with a 5 turnover game. I never expect him to carry this team because I know what to expect. He has a solid floor and a low celing. Not someone I want to pay 30 million a year for.
All the Dak lovers can spin doctor this all day, but if you are actually honest with yourself. Dak is not an elite QB, and I am not insulting him. He is what he is. A good QB who should be paid fairly. To me that number is what Foles is getting in Jacksonville.
@dckid having another meltdown. Still in denial and still hating. lol

The only thing worse than paying Dak $30mil is citing Bleacher Report as a credible resource.

Disagree. Dak is worth every penny of $30 million and by the end of that contract you'll come to see we got him cheap at that price. I don't buy your comparison of Dak to Cousins. Average starters don't win as much as Dak has in his first 3 season's, which is btw, more than any other QB in the NFC in the same timeframe.

You don’t remember Tebow time? You think they mentioned that because of his play all game?
Why should I remember Tebow time? I never followed him. Hence my question.
So... beyond the conjecture, you certainly have the numbers to support this at hand, yes?

If Jerry is going to tie up most of the cap into 5 players I hope it works out for him. I'll just start watching another team if it doesn't.
What a devastationg financial loss Jerry would endure.

Are you really suggesting that Washington has had anywhere near the roster that we have? Aaron Rogers missed the playoffs the last two years -- are you telling me that Dak is better than Aaron Rogers?

Hence my question my butt. This is the Internet genius I didn’t know you genuinely didn’t know. Why should you remember Tebow? I don’t know because maybe you brought it up to defend Alex Smith jr. No conjecture that’s what people said at the time. Googles your friend Zo if you truly care to seek the answers.

I can see your point on that. Quarterback salaries continue to skyrocket and at some point, a team is going to have to reverse the trend, say "No", and let their quarterback walk.

But I will point this out. In his three playoff games, Dak Prescott was NOT the reason the Cowboys lost. In fact, he did more than enough for his team to win all of the games he's been involved in, and outplayed his counterparts.
While what say here is true it is also true that he wasn't the reason they won and he most definitely had the opportunity to have been.

I think that is the point of the OP. He is a safe player with whom a team can win with but he hasn't shown he can rise up and go get that win when things go a little south around him.

I suggest the Dolphins!

Dolphins suck! But Old Man Brady winning 7 rings would be an amazing moment in the history of sports. That is something a person can root for. Dak getting a 30 million dollar a year contract.... Well?...not so much....
