If im the cowboys I recounter with less then the first offer..want to play that game sign or play for 2mil and on the FT next year.. im not giving dak anything over 27 sorry its huge mistake and not a Dak hater I think QB salarys are out of control and the market is like this because Garroplo, Cousins, Carr etc drove up the market and they weren't worth those contracts, shows they did nothing for their teams to earn it before or after and someone needs to dig in and just say NO to bloated contracts..Dak deserves 25-27 mil max and thats already high for where hes falling stat wise and for who he is at this point..i dont give a flying Flip what the market says you paly hardball lets reverse the trend like Rbs are doing that after Gurley and now the Jets feel they made huge mistake with Bell, its going to go the other way.. who better then the DC to be the first to tell Dak and Zeke heres what you are worth or play out your contracts and FT TT and buh bye..

yea, this is nothing against dak. while i may not be a fan/believer of him, he's going to go for everything he can. ANY of us would do the same. here's to hoping it's the right move and he plays well this year.

Dak will get paid, maybe a top 5 salary for QBs, certainly not much outside of top 5.

Nothing has gone up or down except what fans think he’s worth. Real numbers were never public.
  • Of course there’s a counter offer....who the heck signs the first offer in any line of work. A dufus who does that doesn’t even need agents.
  • Being paid in the top 5 is not the same as being a top 5 QB....there’s where fans get worked up over nothing. When any starting QB signs a new contract, especially a young guy with upside, he’s going to be making more than better, more proven QBs who signed deals 2,3,4 years ago....duh.
  • People get too wrapped up in this. There’s plenty of money to go around. It’s not my money, so I don’t care if they pay him 25 million or 32 million. They know how to structure it and make it work. You only end up in cap hell when you’re paying a huge amount of your cap to guys who aren’t on your team any more.

I like how Dak is dealing with the situation. I expect a deal to be done before training camp but in the meantime Dak is out there working and getting himself ready.
