You're still assuming Hill is somehow the automatic starter. Based on what? Insurance is something we haven't had a whole lot of on the DL.
There are guys who had surgery we're not sure about.

I'm not assuming either way, but these that want to pay $11-$12 million a year for McCoy sure are. In fact, they're putting their money where their mouth is, literally.

There's the Crawford situation.

You're talking to the wrong guy about that. I'd punt him today and get the overpaid rotational player off my books.

Also, I wouldn't be all in on the idea that Hill is specifically in the 3 technique position. There are a lot of uncertainties. I don't want to go another year of "hope" only to be forced to fill positions with useless jags.

Talk to Marinelli about that. Hill is his under tackle, no ifs ands or buts about it.

Cutting Crawford (sorry buddy, I like ya, you’re a solid player and a good leader) and Hurns and using that cap money on McCoy makes us a much better team. Hurns isn’t gonna get much playtime and McCoy is so much better than Crawford.

The cap stays the same, but the team gets much much better.

On a one year deal? Sure. I'm all about that too. Now all we have to do is to get McCoy and his agent to agree to those terms.

Oh look Suh signed for $9 million instead of the $13 million they owed McCoy.

lol at counting on a 2nd round reach to be an immediate impact player
If they wanted to keep McCoy they could have saved 8m in cap space with a simple restructure

They can save 15m with MEvans and 5m with several others without cutting anyone

Cap space wasn't the issue ......it was a bonus but it was a performance issue

We stay the same at one position and go backwards at WR.... that is not getting better

You cut the 52nd and 53rd guys..... not 60% snaps guys

The coaches love AHurns for a big Slot WR..... the role he thrived in JAX..... he should have never been an outside X or Y

Going from Crawford to McCoy is not staying the same. My goodness. McCoy is better than every single one of our defensive tackles. Not even close.

And at WR, we have Cooper, Gallup, Cobb all ahead of Hurns. Austin and Pollard in the mix at slot as well. We lose nothing but depth at WR.

That was 10 years ago

He just isn't any more

He is soft and TB is glad to be rid of him..... that is why they took on a head case like Suh instead of their beloved Pro Bowler

They could have saved more money, 8m with a simple restructure

It was actually a two year deal, with the 2nd year holding a 10.1M cap hit with none of it guaranteed.

He had 3 years left but since none of it was guaranteed they could just cut him after Year One with no pain

It’s hard to take anyone who says Crawford is as good as McCoy today seriously.
Try these on...

You don't have to lose any of the four if you bring McCoy in.

Ah yes the master capologist that has regular discussions with Jerry and Stephen and knows all of the cap hits for this year and the future, even those not even signed yet like Prescott, Elliott and Cooper and Jones. There are people that know a heck of a lot more about the cap than you that have said the Cowboys are going to be hard pressed to get those 4 signed let alone adding McCoy into the mix. Like I said every year there are fans that think THEY know a way to sign some free agent and not affect the other players the Cowboys want and need to sign. To bad none of those fans ever get hired as capologists.

You'll get over it
I'm patiently waiting for this season to unfold and those two have nearly exactly the same stats and the arguments that stem from this conflagration!
It's going to be awesome!
I hope I remember this...
