Cowboys news: Dak Prescott and Jon Kitna are building a relationship that should benefit Dallas

...From one man that played behind center for the Cowboys to the current signal-caller: here is the relationship between Jon Kitna and Dak Prescott.

Garrett is encouraged by the relationship he sees building between Kitna and Prescott as the Cowboys enter their second week of organized team activities.

”I think they’ve gotten along really well,” Garrett said. “I think they have a lot of similar qualities if you think about them as people.

”I think it’s good to have a new voice for Dak, someone who again I think believes in the things that we believe in but maybe can present it a little differently. Hopefully that resonates with Dak and the other quarterbacks.”

Prescott likes how active Kitna is a coach, how he keeps pushing...

Now is the building phase of the off season...and focus on just these things is relevant to following and identifying elements of change as they progress. Very important stuff really...as focus upon the rush and not targets, is affected by the developments here as in the offensive line group.

Good technique and a strong unity in the offensive line, will improve everything, including the Red Zone.

I really watched a lot of Kitna before he came here.

He moved around a lot.

Seattle was his best start and could do some damage.

I have high hopes.

Only..this is the same staff that had to fire their OL coach mid-season in '18.

The Offensive Coordinator is gone as well. I didn't doubt but those two...up front.

When you look at what it takes to be a good teacher building a relationship is the foundation that allows further growth. Without it the passion, work ethic, mental toughness and knowledge you're trying to get across may be difficult to convey.

Hopefully Kitna can continue to bring the glory days of the Lions to this this coaching staff.

I like Kitna. I have a feeling he will really help Dak be even better. I feel like Dak is already a 66% guy with inconsistent mechanics. How high can that number get with more consistent mechanics? I like what Kitna said about going through progressions and how you can really speed up that process by knowing how the defensive look is most likely going to cover the play you have called and there are times you can mentally know which wr’s you can exclude in the progressions before the snap. We’ll see. Looking forward to seeing it.

Kitna and Dak were/are both “try hard” low talent guys so in that respect they should mesh well, with the hope that Kitna can impart whatever knowledge he had that allowed him to hang on so long.
Kitna was extremely aggressive though (at least with the Lions), so I have no idea how well that will mesh with Dak’s sack taking and dinking and dunking ways.

Focus enhanced as opposed to watching the pressure...

He was aggressive.

Sort of balanced out he was not the most gifted passer.

We will see.

I hope you mean Kitna and not Moore. :muttley:
As Kitna would be the better choice.

Actually if Garrett is fired, Jerry will allow a new HC pick his own staff. If not, then yes history repeats itself and we are doomed for another 10 years if not more.
