so in your opinion, without a safety we are doomed....I guess rams, patriots, etc. all have great safety play and that's what got them to the superbowl

To be fair. The patriots have one of the better safeties in the league.

But he’s not the primary reason they won the Super Bowl. He certainly helps though.

I don’t get the dislike or apprehension about Dak at all. He’s a good QB with off the charts intangibles and plenty of room to improve in all the areas where QBs improve with experience. He’s a guy you can build a team around. Not sure what anybody else could ask for from the guy.
Dak was a raw talent with great intangibles coming out of college which is why he went in the fourth round. He was never going to be a polished player early on.
Even so, he's a top-15 QB right now with room to grow.
Footwork is coachable and reading defenses is something Dak has steadily improved on.
Has he improved as fast as I'd like? No.
But he is improving - even the footwork last year was not quite as inconsistent as the second half of 2017 and that was with facing more pressure.
Consistency is where he needs to improve.

If Dak is feeling more comfortable and he is sharper and more accurate then this team is a SB contender because we are stacked almost everywhere. One thing is certain. Once cooper got here Dak looked good. He will be better this year. Do you guys think his production will match the contract he is looking for? What types of numbers does he need to reach for the contract and for a good season.

Dak looked great his first 24 games as well. There was only a 16 game stretch where the oline was injury riddled and he had little to throw to thar he played poorly.

It is his 4th year, things should start clicking even more.
He had a set back in 2017 that messed up his mechanics though he still needs some work with them. But that Atlanta game seemed it messed with his head, and he started getting that back last year. But Cooper sure did help a lot also.

But now as it all starts to come more natural, and with Kitna to help with his mechanics and other stuff. This is his year take the next step and prove he is that QB.

I know they will work out a deal, but I still rather he play and prove it.

Nope, in the Atlanta game the oline went south. Nothing to do with mechanics.

Dak has a lot of work to do before hes an elite passer. If he improved even a little from last year I'll be happy. His mechanics, anticipation throws and the time he takes to make a decision were terrible last year.

This is year 4.. improvement is expected. If hes the same dude then that's who he is.
Lol....amazing he still made the pro bowl and we won a playoff game.

Looks like your analysis is a turd.

During that stretch there were a few decent games mixed in.
Just to add some perspective.
Last year vs. Detroit & Jacksonville.
2017 against New York (second game).

Kellen Moore has got to get Dak disciplined in getting the ball out quicker. I remember how Norv Turner did that for Troy Aikman and it launched Dallas into a place where we haven't seen since.

The Cowboys have a reasonably easy schedule even though they wont the division last year. Dak to have a good season needs to prove he can break into the 4k yds passing and 28-30 passing td range if he wants that 30 mil. I like the way the Cowboys are surrounding him with help in Kitna and Moore. Hopefully he can improve a little and get this team in an NFC championship game. If he has a 3300 yd year and 22 tds Jerry is holding the cards and can negotiate more of a Foles contract.

how long have we given our coach? while a rival did it in 2.
The last time we were told we had a genius coach. lol I hope KM is great but right now I want to see it. Garrett's best year as an OC was the beginning part of the 2007 season. After that the real Garrett showed up. IF KM does turn this offense around it won't be long before other teams are calling.

There was a cool article on this.

I don't believe any Cowboys fan "hates" Dak. He represents the Cowboys very well, stays out of trouble, is a good leader, hard worker and seems pretty clutch as well. There's nothing inherent to hate about this young man.

Some are convinced is that "not" the answer to our future QB needs, others are sure he is the savior of the franchise. Most, I believe, just need to see more before they set up in either camp.

Dak will reveal his true value this year or next - but to either anoint or dismiss him with what we have seen so far is premature. Cowboys fans that have not anointed him at this point don't "hate" Dak. We all want him to succeed and there's nothing there to hate.
Another rational take. Nice job man.

We've heard this about Dak every offseason since he's been a starter. "Dak looks good" "Dak's accuracy is improving" "Dak's mechanics look better."

He's in his 4th year and he has all the weapons around him. If he can't succeed then I don't know what to say.

He has made two pro bowls and won more games than anybody not named “Tom Brady” during that period. It’s not exactly Dak’s fault that some of our fans can’t be realistic.

Having the 2nd most wins the last 3 years behind Brady is damn impressive.

However, it hasn't translated into playing and winning games in late January which is the standard in Dallas.

Until that changes, my first sentence is basically meaningless.
