On a fun note, I've been at the Zoo today in Barcelona. My last post and this one (courtesy of WiFi) have been near a wolf. Apparently, it closes in 30. Then, off to the beach and casino for me.

oooooohhhhh, Me likey!!!!!

Funny thing is, I never fell for the hoopla over his rook season, and I'm not falling for it now as it's going the other way.

Dak is a decent young QB w/ off-the-charts intangibles who could easily get better, esp w/ heady Moore and saavy Kitna. I'm trying not to pre-anoint, but I think Jerry got this one right. These two guys have that extra intangible, and I believe it will relate to coaching. Am I proclaiming this? Nope, because Moore is so young he's simply on a wait and see mission at present. What I'm hoping is that Moore proved to Jason and co. that he can be an NFL OC at a high level, and they're not just hiring him because he's said to be smart. On that, we will just have to wait and see.

At times, Dak is accurate. He's shown a clutch gene and the players are charging hades for him carrying flares. Dude has everything he needs at this point, except consistency. And since Dak improved mightily every year in college, I give it a very good chance that he will now take the next step and improve to top 10 status. He's got the goods, so the hope now is that Kitna can finish his development. This staff has been notorious for leaving the status quo as long as we were winning games, and his lack of playing time last preseason showed that was exactly what we were doing w/ Dak. Problem is, Dak was not even close to a finished product. And we treated him as if he were.

Hey, maybe Dak won't get better, we've all seen that happen. However, looking at and evaluating his past and giving a little hope for the new Kitoore combo, there is much to look forward to, w/ renewed hope and history as the guide.
Yet some can't wait for him to stumble and fall.

Since I watched a lot of him at Miss St, I saw this kid that made his name with his legs so when he faced the best D's in college ball, they forced him to stay in the pocket because no HC in college hates to face mobile QB's more than Saban. The difference between Dak the dual threat and the pocket QB was his HC, Dan Mullen, a noted QB guru and known to get the most out of his QB's like Alex Smith and Tim Tebow. No NFL coach was able to get more out of Tebow than Mullen did so he's got some serious cred.

I am optimistic that Moore and Kitna can plug into that part of Dak that Mullen did but Linehan seemed unable to do and I am assuming there was some disagreement between Linehan and Moore on how to handle Prescott.

It's his story that gets me and almost Romoesque. That's the root of sports to me and the reason I love it. It's that kid beating the odds, doing what others said he couldn't do. Prescott got on the Heisman list as a junior and also on the SEC DC watch list and had a disappointing season and his stock fell. The team that took him didn't even have him close to the top of the list and even tried giving up picks to take another QB. He comes in as a project 3rd string QB and we know the rest of this story.

I think some will not admit that they want their DC QB with a pedigree, not a story like Romo and Prescott have.

I've had a special place in my heart for Dak because we share the pain of loss of our most loved one but exacerbated by the fact that was the one person in the world that believed in us more than anyone else. So, I pull for him and every time I see him point to the sky, that makes me feel good.

A guy defying the odds to become the most high profile player in all of sports and to top that off, replacing one with an even greater story, that's what sports are all about to me. That some powerful stuff right there.

I don't give a crap about style his accuracy and touch were perfect
touch? really? when? same flaws then as he has now.... he completes a lot of passes, but that's not necessarily equal accuracy, but mostly because he is safe. he was far from perfect and if that was your definition of perfect, then you have a very low bar, which means there are a lot of quarterbacks above that bar

So basically in order to meet your expectation he has to be the best quarterback in the league lol? Only one player had that type of season and that was Pat Mahomes.....so you want him to have historically great season in order for you to be happy? You are full of it lol.
honestly we don't need those numbers. We had those numbers at times in the past with more turnovers also and it got us no further than current QB. I just want an effective passer a timely efficient passer and someone who doesn't constantly turn the ball over and we have seen that Dak can be that as evident in his first season.I think hell return to that form and improve on it.

It does not really matter about coaches or players. The Jones family is the problem and has been for 30 years. Jimmy knew Jerry enough to tell him to F off. When you hear the Jones family talk about the team .... Its the family business. Anyone that knows anything, will tell you family and business dont mix. Jones family number one priority is making money. You hire i real GM , his job relies on the production of the team and performance. As nice as it must be to have the most valued team in the NFL ... what good is it if they don't win? Its like taking a crap in a box and putting a warranty on it. " Tommy Boy" Who wins ? The company selling the crap. BTW Im not saying the Cowboys are crap ... i know how sensitive some here are :p

Yeah when it come to Dak I'm not stuck on stats. I just want this offense to keep scoring and help the defense out. Take over games with their offense. I understand that we are a run first team so he may suffer in the stats department because of it.

Me blow a gasket over Dak lol now that's funny!
To be honest when our offense is on the field I find it difficult not to fall asleep during the game due to the anemic pace our offense sputtering with Dak at QB.
After Roger,White,Troy,Romo, having to watch Dak is like going to the dentist......zzzzzzzzzzz

Well this tells us a lot about your personal hygiene or lack there off.

Dak looked like trash in the Atlanta game and afterwards, because that’s when Zeke’s suspensions came into effect. This was after three straight games of Linehan running Zeke over 24 times a game after Dak was throwing pick 6s all over the place and Linehan had to reign it in.

The most requested moniker back then would have been OhNoDanny.

I am not a complete homer but I do have the tendency to give Cowboys players the benefit of the long time fanhood. I had to accept Sanders, Pacman, Bryant, Owens, Hardy and Gregory once they became Cowboys and look the other way and not at the person as much as the uniform.

Some of that Romorooter stuff I got, the dating stars, the golf, Cabo and especially the cap on backwards and his fat butt. All convenient hate arrows. But with Prescott, I don't get it except for one thing and I try not to let my mind go there. Except for that inconsistent accuracy issue, which may be curable, what's not to like. He didn't take Romo's job, the team gave it to him.

It's always been my theory that the team got lazy with him because of that Houdini act. So what if I matador this block, he'll escape. When they got the 3rd stringer in there, no time for slough blocks or dogging any plays because we've got nothing behind this kid and he didn't have that "Hollywood" persona that some might not have liked. This kid lost his Mom a couple of years ago and he's easy to pull for and besides that he immediately embraced the toughest role of every young QB in the NFL, leadership. It was that trait that kept him in as the QB1. This 4th round kid that no one ever expected to be starting was actually not only doing that but leading. It is that trait in him that kept the QB1 job in high school and at Miss. St.

Every QB is going to make mistakes, miss the easy play, and some withdraw as Romo used to do all down on himself on that bench but Prescott is that QB that every player wants, the guy that doesn't give up, the fighter than just keeps getting up off the mat. There's no quit in him and there's a lot to like about him so I am pulling for some more progress because he's the DC QB1 regardless of how I feel or what I want.
Unfortunately for me I cannot help but notice. It’s very blatant.

So, my European tour has concluded. I fly home tomorrow morning. Europe has been wonderful as usual. The Barcelona Zoo, the Barcelona Cathedral, and the casino are my biggest highlights of Barcelona. I won €26,50 on Sunday at blackjack, lost €23,50 yesterday, and won €22,50 today. And the wolf was seriously cool today at the zoo.
