Of course you would Hard.
Of course you would.

And then when the team tanks, you'll whine about how this team can't find a winning QB.
You want Matt Cassel 2.0.
I want a great team built around a bus driver.
Spend the money on elite OL and DLs
That's were the games are won.

It is a 4 yr extension that goes into effect after the remaining 2 yrs of his existing contract. So it is $32M per year. Sure you can say it is $25M over the next 6 yrs but that is not the contract.

If you want to play games then you can say its $32 million after two more seasons. But if your being true it looks like this:

Eagles have Wentz for next 6 seasons at cap hit of $154 million. Thats avg of 25 million year. The reason you don't want this to be true is because it will make Cowboy look bad when Dak ends up making more than him over next 6 seasons.

The question is: are you fully on board with this extension?

Sure. If he blows his knee out next year and the year after, we cut him, probably only take a the 10-15 million$ Left in signing bonus in dead cap and we’re clear of it. The key is how Howie structured it. The fact that 80% of the contract is guarantees should be the alarm bell that something’s fishy. Let’s see how it’s structured.

Smart mover by the eagles... They knew if Dakota signed this summer and Went played like he did two years ago, they were looking at >$35MM/yr. They just saved a lot on the cap by beating the Cowboys to the punch...

Now Daks agent can argue his client out performed Went and deserves more than $32mm/yr

If I am Jerry, the Wentz contract means nothing to me. I put an offer to Dak on the table and if he walks away from it then franchise him and tell Mike White to get ready as fast as he can.

Well then do the same idea for Zeke's contract demands. If he walks away from a contract offer, tell Pollard or Weber to be ready. Same thing for Amari Coopers backup.

Why is Dak getting paid more than Wentz over the next six seasons now?

Those three guys aren't getting franchise QB money.

I'm sure you saw the post comparing the numbers of Dak and Wentz.

Dak is no more or no less a bus driver than Carson Wentz is.

because the Cowboys can help themselves. I bet Dak at bare min gets $3 million more per season over next 6 seasons for avg of $28 mill year.

Until Wentz gets hurt and Dak is still playing. Then people will really feel good about the Dak deal.
