We keep waiting. Just like Dlaw. This is going to be bad. Prepare for Dak over $30m AAV.

Wentz is a better QB than Garrett. Jason was your typical back up QB who shined the one time we needed him to in that Thanksgiving day game. Typical back up qb. That eventually becomes a coach. I am skeptical of the entire team regardless of Garrett as coach regarding winning the super bowl.

Back ups and injuried players are still apart of the team.
You are supremely clueless.

When was the last time the Cowboys did a bad contract? Chill out and grow a pair. Damn.

They could have signed Dlaw for way less when he wanted it, they made him prove it. Whoops.

This isn't about bad contracts. It's about not signing your stars when you know you want them, to extensions when you HAVE LEVERAGE.

Edit: all for signing Dak for market but again we WAIT and now its reset

You’re right. Most teams do this. Most long term contracts, the team can escape from after 2 seasons if they really want to.

That’s why all the hand wringing on this site about Dak’s deal is foolish. All the talk about how it will screw up the cowboys salary cap for a decade and set the team back for years blah blah blah.

No matter what his cost per year is, it will probably be a deal they can cut him from after 2-3 years max and then be fine salary cap wise.

I think it’s the move to absurdly large guarantees, along with the fact that if you’re cutting him I’m 2-3 years that’s probably this teams window.

He still has a ring to show off. I guess Dak can put a beer can tab on his finger and gloat about how fast he can down a beer.

I don't think this is entirely true. My guess is he can't stand the fact Foles took that team through the playoffs. And you better bet he had some oee running down his leg when Foles started to do it again last year.

I'm not saying Dak is necessarily better. But I am saying I bet Wentz isn't exactly proud of that ring.

If I am Jerry, the Wentz contract means nothing to me. I put an offer to Dak on the table and if he walks away from it then franchise him and tell Mike White to get ready as fast as he can.
Mike White? Good bye playoffs.

That's some damn good logic, and Johnny's is really poor using "scouts" since that was three years ago and the "scouts" missed so badly on Dak as it is.
Scouts I don't give a damn about scouts. I have never been a scouts guy Quincy.

Good for Wentz! He is a guy when healthy has potential to be top 3 QB. Now the market is set and let Dak play out this season and see what it brings him. If he has 30 tds and 7 int maybe he will get what Wentz is getting.

Garrett has 3 rings though and that's all that matters right. That's what I kept hearing from the Wentz lovers, her got a ring........ He didn't help the team in the playoffs or Superbowl. Sure they got rings but if they didn't contribute then it's like they don't have it.

Looks like Philly has signed QB Carson Wentz to a 4-year extension worth $128M, with over $100M in guaranteed money.

Thoughts?
:lmao2:ESPN reported Wentz has an NFL-record $107 million-plus guaranteed in his contract. Overall, the contract extension is worth $128 million, and it reportedly could be worth up to $144 million. NFL Media reported Wentz will get $66 million guaranteed at signing.

Whatcha think of that Donnie?

Ok, let me get this straight. This is a 4 year extension beyond this upcoming season, right? The 5th year option has now been dissolved?

I agree with everything you say but’ “ Even with a long term contract for big money”. I really like Dak but I don’t think he can carry a team by himself so how much money you have left over to pay for talent around him matters....a lot

He isn’t going to have to carry the team himself. Even with those type of contract numbers. The front office can still pay other players and use the draft to build a team.

That’s if you believe in “Windows”. When a teams window can be open or shut at any time depending on what the front office does.
