Fair or not Agents use the pay of peers to help determine the market value.

Wentz was the number two overall pick and has been paid well up to this point. Dak was a 4th round pick and hasn't been adequately compensated. Fair or not his representation is going to "tax" us for that back pay performance. (I think it is owed)

Dak would be smart to take a 25-27 mil a year deal to help the team keep players around him. But I get it if he wants big BIG money now because he's owed.

On the Contrary, I think Dak would be very wise to take a three year deal at 25-27. First of all, the Market has been set so I am very doubtful that Dak even gets 27 from anybody else. Like it or not, from most of the rest of the NFL world, Wentz is seen as better and that's just how it is. For the most part, it is my experience that only Cowboys fans see Dak as better. That's what drives the price. Dak is not going to get a better offer from anybody else and likely would not get as good an offer elsewhere, IMO. If he signs a deal like that, it's probably the best money he would get at this point and he would be in a position to negotiate a bigger deal in two years, if he proves that he can take the next step. Fact is: You can find the win/lost record of a QB on line. But you'll never find the win/lost record of a defensive back on line.

JUST STATING FACTS. a win/lost record is attached to every QB in the sport.

Again, if you want to place yourself in a camp full of morons, then so be it. You willfully put yourself in that camp to justify your arguments, despite knowing it's poor.

However, anyone with a bit of sincerity and intelligence knows when you judge an individual player, you judge them by their performance, and then downplay the rest of what the team does to prop up a single player.

This argument is used for convenience and by absolute casual football fans you'd see posting on Facebook.

Your argument is not with me it's with the sport. But since you make such a valid point I'm sure the sport will stop attaching win/loss records to high school quarterbacks, to college quarterbacks, and to professional quarterbacks. Just cause you say so.

No, the sport is the show, the arguments come from the spectators. There is absolutely nothing from the sport that dictates you to to accept the argument you're using to justify your bias. Nothing.

The argument, at it's core, is flawed. This is not suggesting that the QB isn't one of the most valuable positions in all of sports, but blindly ignoring the other players surrounding the QB is downright stupid and being intentionally ignorant and flat out lazy.

It is a 4 yr 128m extension. He didn’t sign a 6 year contract. 32 per year not 25 lmao

What’s the difference. It’s 4 years added to the 2 he was already under contract for. When you average out all 6 years, it comes to $25.8 per year. That should be the target for Dak as well. It certainly should not be above that when all years are averaged out.

Wentz would’ve got more if he wasn’t injury prone.

I agree with this statement but if you believe this, then how does anybody justify 30 mil a year? I mean, the point is winning and not in the regular season but in Championships. That's really what the game is about in the NFL.

Does anyone truly believe anything or anyone can justify $30 million a year ? But the bottom line is you're worth whatever someone is willing to pay you......Would you or I turn down someone throwing money at us ?

I don’t think so. He got $32 million a year for the 4 new years. That’s top dollar. They don’t add money to the years already under contract. The player gets signing and roster bonuses in those years to help spread out the cap hits. I don’t see this as a hometown discount. He got top dollar. He just got it two years early so the per year average is lower than the new money average.

If he was healthy he would’ve got a Russell WilsOn deal at least.

I agree. I just don't see any team out there paying Dak anything more then 25 per. I am not even certain that it would be 25, considering Wentz's new deal. Seriously, I don't know who would do that.

Most fans and the media use that as their criteria....................However inaccurate you and I may view that as being , that hardly makes them "morons".......

> Most fans

Most fans are casuals

> The media

What is "the media"? I don't go to ESPN talk shows for QB analysis, I go to in-depth statistical sites like PFF, Football Outsiders, etc. And yes, it does make them morons - if you completely ignore the surrounding players in a TEAM game (which is what we call a group of players, duh!), it makes you a moron.

Jerry will................Unfortunately..................

Right, other then the Cowboys, I don't believe any team would pay him more. We are probably the best bet in town for Dak. Everybody is saying 30-32 but seriously, what team is going to pay Dak that kind of money? What team would even pay him 27? Everybody can say that Wentz's deal is 32 but really, it's 25 over 6 years and that's the truth. Outside of Dallas, does anybody in the NFL actually view Dak as better then Wentz? That's the key to me. Find the team who is going to lay out that kind of money for 5 or 6 years. I don't know who it would be?

In Major League Baseball , the team's record is reflected in the standings , yet don't pitchers have WON/LOSS records attributed to them ? Do they make every put-out with zero assistance ? And what about goalies in the NHL ?Their goals against average and THEIR WON/LOSS RECORDS(s) are recorded and included.............. I guess baseball and hockey aren't team games.................
